Around 8:30pm, fire crews were called to 1831 Walnut Street for a working house fire.
When crews arrived they found smoke filling the home. Firefighters found a fire travelling within the walls of the front room of the home, but were able to have the fire out within minutes of arrival.
The fire was contained to the wall in the first floor front room of the home.
Crews remained on scene for over an hour as the home was cleared of smoke.
We'll have more details on Friday on a cause of the fire.
The Washington Fire Company (Ashland), American Hose Company (Ashland), Rangers Hose Company (Girardville), and Ashland Ambulance responded to the scene.
