A man walked away uninjured in a crash Friday morning in Orwigsburg.
According to the Orwigsburg Police, on Friday morning, just after 4:00am, police were dispatched to the area of West Market Street and Franklin Street for vehicle crash.
After arriving at the scene, police found that an International box truck had been traveling westbound on W. Market Street when it struck a legally parked sedan owned by a resident in the 300 block of W. Market Street.
After striking the parked sedan, the box truck continued westbound during which it drove over top of the sedan and came to rest after striking several large trees and a retaining wall in front of 400 W. Market Street.
The operator of the box truck, Randy Harris of Harrisburg, had self-extricated himself prior to police arrival and was uninjured.
Harris told police that he was trying compensate for a tractor trailer passing him in the opposite direction when crash occurred.
The Orwigsburg Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Orwigsburg Fire Department, the Orwigsburg Street Department, A&K Towing, and Trail Towing.
Harris will be cited for multiple traffic infractions, including: careless driving, driving at safe speed, and roadways lane for traffic.
