Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Edward L. and Margaret Cuff Gallagher. He had been employed as a clerk for Bipartisan Committee for the PA House of Representatives, Harrisburg, until his retirement in 2012. He was proud to have worked at the state capital.
He was a 1977 graduate of the former Cardinal Brennan High School and then attended Temple University. He was inducted into the Jerry Wolman, PA Sports Hall of Fame, Northern Anthracite Chapter , was a an avid Phillies, Eagles and Notre Dame football fan. John was an avid book lover, a connoisseur of beers and loved Reuben Sandwiches. He also enjoyed pottery, refinishing furniture and road trips. Most of all he enjoyed evenings with good friends, laughing with his girls and slow dancing with his wife Phyllis. He was a social member of Frackville American Legion Post # 398.
John’s wish was to donate his brain to Boston University School of Medicine for further research to help lead to a cure for brain disease.
He was preceded in death by a brother Edward Gallagher.
John is survived by his wife Phyllis L. “Skocik” Gallagher, his two daughters, whom he adored, and three grandchildren; Maria wife of John Henneberg and their children Leah Theresa and Adam John, Cazenovia, NY, Lauren T. Gallagher and her boyfriend Nick Weismiller and their son Nolan Franklin, Pottsville, his two brothers; James T. and his wife Mantura Gallagher, Stone Harbor, his twin brother Tom and his wife Kelly Gallagher, Fountain Springs, his three sisters; Elizabeth Gallagher, Ft. Myers, FL, Mary Ann wife of William “Bill” Devaney, Girardville and Margaret Gallagher, Hazleton, and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Annunciation Church, Frackville, with Rev. Robert T. Finlan as the celebrant. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of mass. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Kenneth A. Boyer, 84 years of age formerly of Tumbling Run Road passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, as a guest at Seton Manor in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania.
Born Thursday, December 7, 1933 in Schuylkill Township, son of the late Wilbur, and Martha (Schlear) Boyer. Kenneth was also predeceased by his brothers, Marlin A., and Lowell Boyer.
Ken was a graduate of Tamaqya High School, and served honorably in the United States Army. A member of Zion Church of Lewistown Valley, Ken had worked for Quers Dairy for many years.
Ken is survived by nieces and nephews.

Helen Raymond, of Mulberry Street Tuscarora, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital Allentown Campus at the age of 90.
Widow of Joseph F. "Cotton" Raymond. She is survived by; son, Gene Raymond and his wife Ruth Marie of Andreas; grandchildren Jeffrey J. Oakes and his wife Loretta, Arthur J. Oakes and his wife Kim, Lori Oakes, Angel Raymond, and Erin Raymond; Six great grandchildren; sister, Julia Kotula of Cumbola; son-in-law Arthur J. Oakes of Tamaqua.
A longtime devoted member of Advent Lutheran Church of Tuscarora, Helen worked at Tuscarora Sportsware. Helen enjoyed time with her family and working in her garden.
Born Saturday, November 5, 1927 in Tuscarora the daughter of the late John, and Ann (Sadlon) Watsula. She was also predeceased by; daughter, Bernadine M. Oakes; sisters, Elizabeth Bulavage, Ann Skibya; brothers, Paul Vacula, John, George, Steve, Michael, and Thomas Watsula; grandson, Kenneth A. Oakes.

Funeral services will be held from the fuenral home on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at 11 o'clock A.M. Rev. Kenneth T. Melber to officiate. Friends may call on the morning of services from 9:30 A.M. until time of service.
Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Helen L. Miller, of Tower City, passed away Wednesday at her home.
Born in Porter Township, January 18, 1928, a daughter of the late Harry and Harriet Welker Strausser.
Helen was a retired seamstress from the garment industry.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tower City and the International Leauge of Garment Workers Union.
Helen is survived by her husband John J. Miller; a son, Richard Strausser, Indiana.
Following Helen's wishes there will be no services. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
