Mahanoy City Police find hundreds of bags of drugs during a traffic stop of a Tamaqua man late Thursday.
According to Mahanoy City Police, on Thursday around 10:45am, Patrolman Thomas Rentschler had pulled a vehicle over driven by Keith Schlosser, 35, of Tamaqua.
During the traffic stop, it was found that Schlosser was in possession of over 375 bags of Heroin, 6.5 grams of Methamphetamine, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, and approximately $900.00 in cash.
Schlosser was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance (Felony), Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor). Charges for Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance are also anticipated to be filed pending lab results.
The defendant was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Ferrier of Orwigsburg, and was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $30,000.00 straight bail.
