The Nurse Aide noncredit program prepares individuals to be eligible to take the PA Certification exam and be placed on the Pennsylvania State Nurse Aide registry. Develop an understanding of the legal and ethical standards of healthcare giving; medical terminology; residents' rights and independence; infection control; and functions of human body systems. Gain supervised clinical experience and hands-on care skills. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday, July 18 through Aug. 14 (no class July 4 and 5), from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost is $1,239, which includes text. An orientation session is held on Wednesday, May 30, at 3:30 p.m. at the main campus in Schnecksville.
Background clearance, health screening and TB testing are required before beginning the program. All paperwork and background requirements must be submitted before individuals are allowed to register.
A Health Care Administrative Assistant Certificate course will be held Wednesday through Friday, May 30 through Sept. 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Students will train in the fundamental computer programs for office and data-entry use, medical terminology, medical office procedures, as well as professional communications. Tuition is $859, which includes the CMAA exam.
