Genevieve "Jean" Flaim, 97, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Saturday, May 5th, peacefully, at Manor Care Health Services, Pottsville. Born in Mahanoy City on May 25, 1920, the daughter of the late Catherine Wieciech and George Piech. She was a member of St. Casimir Parish and later St Teresa of Calcultta Parish, Mahanoy City.
Jean graduated from Mahanoy City High School class of 1939 . Her job as a waitress at Mika's Restaurant and Bar led her to meet and marry her future husband, Frank. Jean worked for City Shirt Factory, Giesen's Restaurant and Bar and in her husband’s store, Flaim's Grocery Store for over 30 years.
Jean was a long time member of the Holy Rosary Society and past President . Jean was an active member of the choir and church volunteer , decorating and cleaning the church..
Jean was wife of the late Francis D. Flaim for almost 68 years. Francis passed away on June 3, 2017 .
She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Krasnisky, of Lansdale; a son, Frank Flaim, of Exton; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a brother Frank, and sisters Veronica Kurtz;, Mary Giesen; Kathryn Piech and Stella Werwinski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 11 am on Saturday, May 12th, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.
Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 am at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish.
Interment will follow in St. Casimir Ceme

Richard T. Williams Jr., 44, of Pottsville, passed away suddenly Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.
Richard was born in Pottsville, July 14, 1973, a son of Claudia Heiser Williams, Schuylkill Haven. and the late Richard T. Williams Sr.
He was the husband of Brenda Argraves Williams.
He served in the Army for over 20 years as an SFC.
He was employed as a senior service officer for the Department of PA Disabled Veterans.
Richard was a member of DAV Marne Chapter 21 Pottsville where he was the adjutant and treasurer, Pine Grove VFW, Clover Club Fire Company where he was the treasurer, Liberty Fire Company, Schuylkill Haven, coached Minersville Biddy Girls Basketball, and was a Free and Accepted Mason in Pittsburgh.
Richard was a member of DAV Marne Chapter 21 Pottsville where he was the adjutant and treasurer, Pine Grove VFW, Clover Club Fire Company where he was the treasurer, Liberty Fire Company, Schuylkill Haven, coached Minersville Biddy Girls Basketball, and was a Free and Accepted Mason in Pittsburgh.
He was graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and attended Penn State University.
Richard is survived by three sons, Richard Williams, New York, John J. Lutsky IV, Saint Clair, and Brett Corby, Pottsville; two daughters, Analisa Williams, Texas, and Keryn Corby, Pottsville; three grandchildren, John J. Lutsky V, Joel Lutsky and Jameson Lutsky; niece, Paris Williams, and nephew, Chase Williams. He also survived by two brothers, John Williams, Schuylkill Haven, and Andy Williams, Schuylkill Haven.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Doug Schwenk officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions to DAV Marne Chapter 21 Pottsville C/O John Matukewicz, 1395 Lightfoot Drive Auburn, PA 17922. Interment with full military honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
