Celebrate the start of summer with a series of events throughout June and July at Fairlane Village Mall.
All events are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted, as follows:
- Now through June 17: Make dad’s day extra special. Shoppers that spend $50 at any combination of Fairlane Village Mall stores on the same day during this period will receive two free tickets to a Reading Fightin’ Phils minor league baseball game. Receipts must be presented in the mall office to receive the gift. One gift per household while supplies last. Shoppers must be 18 years of age or older to redeem receipts.
- June 14: A free community shredding event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., hosted by Sen. David G. Argall and Rep. Neal P. Goodman. Documents will be shredded in the front parking lot area near the guard rail. Those attending will be limited to a maximum of three bags or three boxes per vehicle. - June 27: A job fair, hosted by PA CareerLink, takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. For more information, call (570) 622-5253.
- July 4: Happy Fourth of July! The mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Department store hours may vary; see specific stores for details.
- July 7: An American Red Cross Blood Drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the storefront next to Super Shoes. To schedule an appointment, call (800) RED CROSS or register at www.redcrossblood.org.
- July 26 to 28: Shop for your favorite reads during the Newspaper in Education used book sale. This event takes place in the storefront next to Super Shoes. Funds raised will pay for copies of The Republican-Herald to be delivered to area schools for educational purposes.
