Teen Taken into Custody for Making Terroristic Threat at Baccalaureate Prompting School Lock Down

A 17 year old was taking into custody for an incident that caused the Tri-Valley High School to go on lock down on Thursday.


According to Hegins Township Police, a 17 year old Hegins Township juvenile male was arrested for making terroristic threats following an incident at the Tri-Valley High School Baccalaureate on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley View.

It is alleged that the juvenile drew pictures on the bulletin and crossed out names of fellow students on the bulletin. While the juvenile was doing this he stated to another student he was making a kill list.

On Thursday, June 7th, 2018, students advised High School staff about the incident who then contacted the Police.

The Tri-Valley School District was locked down for the duration of the day while the juvenile was subsequently taken into custody by Police at his residence without incident.

Custody of the juvenile was transferred to Schuylkill County Juvenile Probation Office.

Hegins Township Police were assisted by the Pennsylvania State Police.
