Pottsville Provides Information on Reporting Property Damages After Flooding

The City of Pottsville is working with the Schuylkill County Emergency Management Agency to gather as much information as possible relating to the recent flood event.

In order for the recovery process to begin, they are asking for your cooperation in assessing the damage that our community has experienced.

In the event that funds become available, it is important to document your losses in a detailed manner.

According the Schuylkill County Emergency Management Agency, property owners are asked to do the following:

 - Contact your individual Insurance Provider/Flood Insurance
 - Individuals and businesses should report property damages to your local
 - Municipality by calling the Office of the City Administrator at 570-628-4417

As of August 15, 2018, there has not been a Presidential Declaration of Disaster, there is no Federal Emergency Management Agency-FEMA assistance available.

The process for this approval has only started, and may not be a reality, but collecting accurate data will be helpful to the cause.
