Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) has postponed its Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program in Schuylkill County that was to begin Sept. 9 and rescheduled it for Oct. 13, 2018, through Feb. 10, 2019.
The class is for individuals who are likely to respond to pre-hospital emergencies or those considering a medical career. Cost is $1,200 (text included). Minimum age of 16 is required. Upon successful completion, students 18 years or older will be eligible to test for the National Registry EMT credential.
It is highly recommended that interested candidates attend the free information session. Acceptance into the EMT program is selective and requires the submission of a physician release form and proof of medical insurance.
A free information session will be held at Lehigh Valley Health Network Hospital, at the Joseph F. McCloskey School of Nursing located at 420 S. Jackson Street in Pottsville, Pa., on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m.
