Nancy Kay Springer, 71 years of age of West Cottage Ave., Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville, Pennsylvania.

Survived by; her husband, Charles D. Springer; son, Joseph Tite and his wife Rebecca; daughter, Angie Tite; step-son, Jeffrey Springer; grandchildren, Jonathan Tite, Jillian Tite, Keith Kranch; nieces, Beverly Zimmerman, Kimberly Scott; nephews, William and David Zimmerman.

Born Wednesday, December 4, 1946 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William Zimmerman and the late A.S. Matilda (Gerber) Zimmerman. Nancy was also predeceased by; sister, Joan Dolores Zimmerman; brothers, Harry G. and William H. Zimmerman

A 1964 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, Nancy matriculated to McCann's School of Business, Hazleton Campus graduating in 1965. She was a life long member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua.

Susan M. Williams, 68, of Rock Rd., Pine Grove, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Lehigh Valley Health Network, Schuylkill East.

Born on August 3, 1950 in Pine Grove, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Betty Granger Kemmerling.

She was a 1968 graduate of Pine Grove High School.
She was a cashier at BG's Market, Pine Grove.

Susan loved and adored her grandchildren and spoiled them with her love, time and affection. Memmy attended all their sporting events and always had snacks for them.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Ann Sattizahn.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Gary H. Williams; a son, Michael and wife Angie Williams, two daughters, Becky and husband Brandon Witmer, Heather and husband Jeremy Schaeffer, all of Pine Grove; 13 grandchildren, Addam Zerbe, Devon, Kyra, Haydn, and Mya Williams, Taylor, Alex, Allie and Terrin Witmer, Hunter and Addyson Deichert, Kaylee and Kaitlyn Schaeffer; 6 sisters, Linda Bowman, Carol Musselman, Lola Ramsey, Cathy Wetzel, Karen Shepperd, Lori Zechman; 3 brothers, Daniel Kemmerling, Terry Kemmerling and Charles "Chuck" Kemmerling; nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove. There will be a visitation on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home.

Ernest L. ‘Henny’ Krause, 93, of Dad Burnham’s Road, Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 22, at Rosewood Nursing Center. Born in Summit Station in April 1925, he was a son of the late Milton and Minnie Peiffer Krause. In addition to his parents, Henny was predeceased by his brother Leo, sisters Helen Moyer and Joyce Dowling, and granddaughter Jacqueline Butler.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years Fern Schwartz Krause, now of Schoolyard Square, Pine Grove, daughter Sandy (Keith) Thomas of Rock, sons Ronald (Bonnie) of Rock and Donald of Pine Grove, granddaughter Jennifer (Josh) Drey and great-grandson Axel Drey of Rock. He is also survived by brothers Gifford of Myerstown, and Sterling of Birdsboro, and sisters Verna Hunt of Ambler, and Lorraine Siemons of Enola, nieces and nephews.

Henny served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, being honorably discharged in 1946 as an Aviation Ordnanceman Second Class. He spent some years working in the coal mines, and retired as a machine operator from the Exxon Mobil film plant.

He was a member of Hetzel’s U.C.C. Church, a life member of the Rock Fish & Game Club and the Friedensburg Fish & Game Club, American Legion Post #374, and the Amvets. An avid hunter and fisherman, Henny made numerous hunting trips out west and fishing trips to Canada in his earlier days. His home was filled with hunting trophies.

A funeral service, including interment at the church cemetery, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 6 at Hetzel’s Church, 261 Hetzel’s Church Road, Pine Grove, with the Rev. Dr. Jill Bierwirth presiding.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hetzel’s U.C.C. Mervin Francis Francavage, 90, of Pottsville, passed away Monday, September 24th, at home.

Born in Schuylkill Haven on October 24, 1927, he was a son of the late Andrew J. & Edna (Sterner) Francavage.

He was the husband of 70 years to Anna (Kuziuk) Francavage, whom he married January 4, 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Mervin was a hardworking family man.His wife, children, and grandchildren meant everything to him.

Mervin proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.

He served as past Commander and past Treasurer for Robert B. Woodbury American Legion Post #67, Pottsville.He also played bugle when the American Legion provided military honors for veteran funerals at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

He was a life member of Pottsville Eagles FOE #134, and also belonged to the American Hose Fire Station #70, Pottsville.

He was formerly employed by Ford Motor Company from 1961 to 1987.

In addition to his wife, Mervin is also survived by a son, Robert A. Francavage & wife, Catherine, Reading, & four daughters: Allene Williams & husband, Tom, Tremont, Denise Snyder & husband, Laman, Chandler, AZ, Karen Castillo & husband, Jose, Cunningham, & Annie Tolbard & husband, Bradley, Greensboro, NC.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Robert Francavage, Jr., David, & Benjamin, Francavage, Allicia Mennig, Daniela, Anamaria, & Tony Castillo, Stacie Jaxheimer, Cory Snyder, Corrine Johnson, & Lindsey Nelson, ten great-grandchildren: Lindsey, Darian, Cole, Ema, Taylor, Ryker, Thora, Jeremiah, Katie, & Owen, and a sister, Evelyn Rawls, Tampa, FL.

In addition to his parents, Mervin is also preceded in death by his son, Thomas Francavage, and three brothers: Donald, Gerald, & Joseph Francavage.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 1st.

A viewing will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass.

Interment with military honors will follow mass at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Ann Marie Whiteash, 77, of Minersville, passed away on Monday at home.

Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late William and Emily Kamenas Verbosh. She attended Nativity B.V.M. High School and later received her practical nursing diploma from the South Campus of Schuylkill Technology Center. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the former Good Samaritan Hospital and retired in May from Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill after almost 40 years of service.

She was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, Minersville, and was a current member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Minersville.

Along with Billy Charles, Ann Marie coached the 11-12 year old girls Little League All-Stars to their first state championship in 1974. She attended a reunion with her team just weeks ago. She enjoyed cooking and music. A proud grandmother, she faithfully followed the activities of her granddaughter, Taylor Whiteash.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Whiteash, on December 21, 1980; her brother-in-law, David DeNaro, in 2010.

In addition to her granddaughter, Ann Marie is survived by her son, Thomas Whiteash (spouse, Wendy), Nazareth; three siblings, William Verbosh, Minersville, Michael Verbosh, Branch Township, and Emily DeNaro, Ocala, Florida; six nephews, Kevin Verbosh, Michael Verbosh, Kyle Verbosh, and William Verbosh, Christopher and Steven DeNaro.

Relatives and friends may call at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Thursday from 6:00 P.M. and on Friday from 6:00 A.M. until 9:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 541 Sunbury Street, Minersville on Friday at 10.00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Branch Township.

Scott J. Wenner, 53, of Branchdale, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.

Born in Pottsville, he was a son of Carleen Bonk Wenner and the late Frederick “Ted” Wenner. He was a 1983 graduate of Minersville High School. He was employed for all of his working life by Tredegar Film Products (formerly Exxon Chemical) in Marlin.

He was a member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville. He was also a member of the Sunny Rod & Gun Club, Norwegian Township, and a member of United Steelworkers Local 719.

He enjoyed fishing with his nephews and enjoyed fishing trips with his friends to the Great Lakes in New York and Canada. He was also a golfer.

Scott is survived by his wife of 12 years, the formerLinda Baritsky; a sister, Sheila Conville (spouse, Mark), Pottsville; two nephews, Brett Conville and Michael Conville (fiancée, Lauren Sheehan).
