Lois M. Hegarty, mother, grammy, of Pine Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - East, Pottsville at the age of 87.
Widow of David J. Hegarty who passed away on January 17, 2010 she is survived by; sons, David J. Hegarty and his finace Margaret Schock, Sean Hegarty and his wife Marian both of Tamaqua; grand children, Sherry Bynon, Carla Najarro and her husband Manny, Kellie Hegarty and her husband Shane Murphy, Kerri Acosta and her husband Joshua; great grand children, Alexis Higgins, Zane Bynon, Maximus Najarro, Corabel Najarro, and Roman Murphy. Many nieces and nephews also survive her.
A graduate of the former Delano High School. As a young woman, Lois was a waitress at the former Five Point's Dinner in Tamaqua, and this is where she met her husband Dave. Lois, worked for the former Atlas Powder Co. of Reynolds, she was a member of St. John XX III R.C.C. of Tamaqua, and member of the Tamaqua Legion Clarence H. Berry Post Ladies Aux since 1950. Devoted to her family she was an excellent Baker and wonderful mother and grammy.
Born Wednesday, September 9, 1931 in Quakake the daughter of the late Elmer and Sara ( Herring ) Bachert. Lois was their last surviving child.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday October 2, 2018 at 10 o'clock AM from St. John XXIII R.C.C. located at 301 Pine Street Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.
Friends may call on Monday evening October 1, 2018 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Jerome's R.C. Cemetery Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Myrtle A Herring, age 95, of Hegins, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born on Friday, October 27, 1922, in Gratz, a daughter of the late Clarence Alverta Knorr.
Myrtle was a seamstress in area garment factories prior to her retirement.
She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.
Her husband Carl I Herring passed away in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by a son, Barry B Herring; three brothers, Leroy, Robert, and "Booper" Knorr; and by five sisters, Hilda Stutzman, Violet Knorr, Pearl Bruso, "Peg" Schneck, and Betty Dupree.
She is survived by two sons, Larry W Herring and his wife Susan of Valley View and Dennis D Herring of Valley View; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a sister, Dolly Klouser of Pitman; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View.
Burial will be made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.

Alicia L. Phillips, 52, of W. King St., Shippensburg, formerly of Pine Grove, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, MD.
Born on September 3, 1966 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of Rufus and Mary Jane Doss Brown of Pine Grove.
She was a 1984 graduate of Pine Grove High School and Bloomsburg University with a BS in Nursing.
Alicia worked as a RN in the Maternity Ward at Chambersburg Hospital. She taught childbirth classes on Tuesday evening and was the chaplain for the Candlelight services for those who lost newborns.
She loved horses.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband of 23 years, Christopher Phillips; a son Brady Phillips; step son Christopher Ryan Phillips; three sisters, Marsha (Kurt) Emerich, Melissa (James) Mabry, Cara (Mark) Houck; grandmother Lillian Doss; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 7:00 P.M.at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Jill Bierwirth officiating. There will be a viewing on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Chambersburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 101 W. Frack St., Frackville, Pa. 17931 in her memory.

Scott J. Wenner, 53, of Branchdale, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.
Born in Pottsville, he was a son of Carleen Bonk Wenner and the late Frederick “Ted” Wenner. He was a 1983 graduate of Minersville High School. He was employed for all of his working life by Tredegar Film Products (formerly Exxon Chemical) in Marlin.
He was a member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville. He was also a member of the Sunny Rod & Gun Club, Norwegian Township, and a member of United Steelworkers Local 719.
He took pleasure in fishing with his nephews and enjoyed fishing trips with his friends to the Great Lakes in New York and Canada. He was also an avid golfer, and liked participating in local golf tournaments.
Scott is survived by his wife of 12 years, the formerLinda Baritsky; a sister, Sheila Conville (spouse, Mark), Pottsville; two nephews, Brett Conville and Michael Conville (fiancée, Lauren Sheehan).
Relatives and friends may call at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Sunday from 6:00 P.M. and on Monday from 6:00 A.M. until 9:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, 139 Spruce Street, Minersville. Interment will in St. Stanislaus Kostka #2 Cemetery, Branch Township.
