The 14 foot tall tree was purchased by the Ashland Rotary from Ponduce Farms in Numidia.
Members of Washington Hook & Ladder helped climb ladders to string up the lights typically done by PPL. Due to scheduling conflicts, PPL was unable to help this year.
"We would like to thank the volunteers that made the tree a reality when our primary volunteer services were removed due to power outages. Thank you goes to the following volunteers: Washington Fire Company and the Fire Police, David Hampton, Jerome Schmultz who chairs the tree search and my fellow Rotary Members." said Ashland Rotary President Joann Birster.
**Editor's Note: The story has been updated with where the tree was purchased and with the thanks from the Rotary President
