Dennis R Mace, age 72, of Hegins, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont.
He was born on Wednesday, March 6, 1946, in Spring Glen, a son of the late James B Mace and the late Bernice L Wiest Mace.
He was a 1965 graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School and attended Findly College, Findly Ohio.
Dennis was a self employed coal miner for over 30 years, and had retired as a truck driver for Cassa Trucking.
He was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz; where he was a former member of his church council, Sunday school teacher, and youth advisor. He was currently attending Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.
He was also a member of Valley F&AM Valley Lodge #797, Valley View; a lifetime member of the Gratz Fire Co.; and a member of the Hegins Fire Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by a daughter, Sherry A Mace; and a grandson, Link J Gochenauer.
He is survived by his wife Patricia A Koppenhaver Mace, to whom he was married for 49 years.
He is also survived by a son, Brian C Mace of Coal Valley, IL; two daughters, Paula J Davis and her husband Brandon of Spring Glen and Tonya M Gochenauer and her husband James of Middletown; a grandson, Blake M Davis; two granddaughters, Breanna M Davis and Zoe A Gochenauer; two brothers, Russell Kerstetter of Spring Glen and Guy Mace of Shamokin; a sister, Suzanne Tallman of Tower City; and several nephews and a niece.
Funeral services will be held at Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz, on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Gregory Lindsey, Rev. Michael C Klahr, Rev. Dan Fox officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be made in Union Cemetery, Gratz.

Anna C. Heim, 96, of Valley View, passed away Saturday morning at her home.
Anna was born in Rough and Ready, October 25, 1922 a daughter of the late Henry and Iva Heim.
She is survived by a daughter Paula Williard and her husband John; granddaughters, April Bruso and her husband Dartlan and Linda Rebuck and her husband Steve; four great grandchildren, Nikki Sankus, Beau Bruso, Dustin Rebuck and Brandi Hallam; 9 great grandchildren, Taylor and Kyle Hallam; Mazie, Lizzy and Ivy Sankus; Kira Rebuck, and Jaxson, Hope, and Hadley Bruso.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Heim and May Shoop; and three brothers, John, Ralph and Henry Heim.
She was a live-in nanny and housekeeper for the Mulholland family who loved her like a grandmother for fourty years.
She enjoyed a long retirement watching all her grandchildren grow. She loved crafting and was the one asked for her opinions on cooking and life guidance.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday December 19, 2018 at Salem Church of Rough and Ready, 11 Church Rd., Klingerstown, with the funeral service following at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Zion E.C. Cemetery, Pitman.

Arthur D. Roberts, 94, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday, December 14th, at South Easton Veteran's Center.
Born in Penn Argyl, on January 29, 1924, a son of the late Rhoda B. (Harris) and William C. Roberts.
He was the widower of Bessie (Edwards) Roberts.
He was a graduate of Penn Argyl High School. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II and previously worked as an Optician.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by siblings Harry Roberts and Helen White.
Arthur is survived by sons Mark husband of Michelle, Pittsburgh, Timothy husband of Lisa, Limerick and Dan Roberts husband of Diane, Orwigsburg; grandchildren Andrew, Sam, Hayley Gregory, Jeff and Dakota Roberts; sister Marie wife of Jay Miller, Lititz.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. , Schuylkill Haven, on Wednesday, December 19 at 11 am.
A visitation for family and friends will be held prior from 10:30 am until the time of the service.

June Vargo, 81, of 410 West Laurel Street, Frackville, died Saturday, December 15, 2018 in Shillington PA.
Born in Butler Twp., September 30, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William and Alva (Shadel) Chappell.
Before retiring, June worked at several area Acme Super Markets, also a delivery person at Kitty & Dottie Flowers, Frackville and a crossingguard for the Frackville Elementary School. She had great passion for all animals especially hummingbirds. An avid sport fan she loved to watch the
Yankees and the Eagles.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Frackville, PA
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward on April 18, 2005, 2 brothers; William and Walter Chappell, 3 sisters; Clara Petri, Grace Timmins, and Mary Smarowsky.
Surviving are son Edward Vargo Jr. and his fiancé Lisa Boylan of Shillington, daughter Cheryl Vargo and her fiancé Shannon Karpulk of Frackville, Nieces ,Nephews and Grandpuppies Lulu and Aerial.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday December 19, 2018 at the Nice-Hart Funeral Home, Inc. 9 North Lehigh Ave., Frackville, PA 17901. The Rev. Jeff Merwine will be officiating. Ronald F. Pillo, 86 of Pottsville, died Friday at the Gardens at York Terrace Nursing Home, Pottsville.
He was born June 27, 1932 in Brockton a son of the late Michael and Edith Fabrizio Pillo.
He was a graduate of Tamaqua High School.
He was a Navy veteran having served during the Korean War.
Early in his life Ron was a barber for a short period of time and was later employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, retiring as a General Manger.
Ron was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville and the church’s Holy Name Society and the American Legion Post # 0114 Middleport.
Throughout his life Ron enjoyed golfing and baseball and loved to attend activates his grandchildren were involved with.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Joan Balsama, Lucille Starkey; a brother, Michael Pillo; a step-son David Zanis. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Delpais Pillo; a step-son, Stephen Zanis and his wife Christine, Pottsville; a sister, Theresa Procacci, Cherry Hill, NJ; 5 step-grandchildren; Nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11AM from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30AM until the time of mass. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100 Harrisburg, PA 17110. Interment with military honors will be held at St. Jerome Cemetery, Tamaqua. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
