A Shenandoah family is temporarily displaced after a fire Saturday afternoon.
Around 4:00pm, Saturday, emergency personnel were dispatched to 629 West Penn Street, Shenandoah for a working structure fire.
The first truck on scene reported smoke coming from the eaves of the home.
Within minutes of arrival, crews reported the fire knocked down and reported it under control.
According to Fire Marshal Rick Examitas, the fire was ruled accidental and contained to the upper levels of the home but will temporarily displace the homeowners for the night.
Working smoke detectors are being credited for notifying those home at the time of the fire.
Fire departments from Shenandoah and Mahanoy City responded to the scene.
The American Red Cross is also assisting.
