According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, Gilbert Hunt, 54, of Syracuse, NY was operating a Freightliner Tractor Trailer and Brianna Wengrenovich, 23, of Shamokin, operating a Buick Century were travelling north on Interstate 81 near Milemarker 117 around 7:20pm.
Police say Hunt was travelling in the left lane and attempted to merge to the right striking Wengrenovich's vehicle.
Wengrenovich was taken to the hospital via Minersville EMS with unknown injuries.
Wengrenovich's vehicle was also towed from the scene.
Hunt will be cited for the incident.
