Margaret M. Dougherty, 100, Girardville, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning at Providence Place, Pottsville.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Helen I. Bendigo, 87, of Tower City, passed away Monday, January 14th at Columbia Cottage, Reading.

Born in Muir, April 15, 1931, a daughter of the late Charles and Nettie Mae Shadle Unger.

Helen was a 1949 graduate of Porter Tower High School.

Helen was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Orwin where she belonged to the ladies aide. She was a former member of the Four Square Gospel Church, Muir.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Gene, E. "Skip" Bendigo, March 15, 2005; her adoptive parents, Clinton and Minnie Lesher Kessler. She was also preceded by six brothers and one sister.

Helen loved her family dearly and will be deeply missed. She enjoyed the nature surrounding her home, especially the birds and her pets.

She is survived by her children, Barbara J. Brown and her husband Art, Williamstown; Gene E. Bendigo, Jr., Tower City; Paul L. Bendigo, and his wife Christine, Reading and Brian L. Bendigo, Florida. Nine grandchildren; Seven Great Grandchildren

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc, Tower City with Rev. Maureen Duffy-Guy. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin. Jean D. (Staller) Ambrosavage, 88, of Bloomfield passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2019.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, PA, she lived to Newark, before settling in Bloomfield. Jean began her career as a CNA at Hartwyck Nursing Home in Cedar Grove for 30 years. She then took a job as a Packer for Phoenix/Express Scripts in Lincoln Park & Towaco until her retirement in 2010, at the age of 80. She was a parishioner of St. Valentine Roman Catholic Church in Bloomfield, where she sang in their choir.

In her leisure time, Jean enjoyed gardening, floral arranging, listening to country music, especially Buck Owens, taking care of her poodle, and doting on her grandson Andrew, who was the light of her life.

She is predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Albert J., by two brothers, David and Donald Staller; and by two sisters, June Hevner and Joyce Drummer. Jean is survived by her daughter Linda Ann Prescott and husband Thomas of Towaco, her grandson Andrew, her brother Russell Staller of Cumbola, PA, her nephew Bobby "Max" Staller, many nieces and nephews, and the wonderful caregivers at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Cedar Grove.

Funeral services will be held 10AM Wednesday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Rd., Clifton NJ 07012, followed by a burial at St. Casimir Cemetery in East Norwegian Township, PA. Visiting hours are Tuesday 3-7PM.
