Jay Robert "Bob" Spotts, 68, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, in Wayne Township.
Jay was born in Pottsville, Nov. 5, 1950, a son of the late Ida Irene Herring and Jay Robert Spotts.
He was the husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" Bazar Spotts. They were married for 38 years.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven, Buck Ridge Hunting Camp and Friedensburg Fire Company. Jay's greatest pleasures were hunting, running and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved baseball and basketball and coached Teener League and legion baseball teams. He also played softball for Red Lion. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Bob was employed as a mortgage broker for Mutual Lending Co., Pine Grove, until retiring in 2014. He enjoyed restoring homes as his retirement hobby.
He was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Class of 1968, and then attended Penn State.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jesse Spotts, and daughter, Addie Sterner, wife of Michael, all of Schuylkill Haven; grandsons, Callen and Adam Sterner; sister, Cheryl Cranford, wife of Steve, Williamsburg, Va.; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 26 at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with Certified Celebrant Rebecca Devlin officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held at 9 a.m. until the time of the service Jan. 26 at the funeral home. Geraldine J Rebuck, age 88, of Hegins, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - E Norwegian, Pottsville.
She was born on Thursday, July 17, 1930, in Port Clinton, a daughter of the late Evelyn Schucker Kessler and the late Fred Kessler, raised by her aunt, the late Emma Klinger.
She was a graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.
Geraldine was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.
She was also a member of Tri-Valley Senior Citizens.
She was a full time homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed sewing and playing cards and had a wonderful sense of humor.
She was the widow of George J Rebuck, to whom she was married for 46 years. She was also preceded in death by a daughter in law, Carol Snyder Rebuck, and a sister, Dolores "Sal" Kline.
She is survived by four sons, Dennis Rebuck, Bryant Rebuck and his wife Georgine, Steve Rebuck and his wife Linda, and Michael Rebuck and his wife Jody all of Hegins; three daughters, Melodie Lupold and her husband Ron of Blain, Peggy Rebuck and her husband Richard Grill of Reading, and Pam Rebuck of Hegins; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael C Klahr officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be made in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
