As part of the announcement, the schedules for 28 schools from the Schuylkill and Colonial Leagues, including 4 new teams to the Schuylkill League for Football (Nativity BVM, Pine Grove Area, Tri-Valley, and Williams Valley), were announced for when the agreement begins during the 2020 Football Season.
While not a merger of the two District XI Leagues, representatives stated "the scheduling agreement will allow large schools to play large schools and small to play small, creating a more competitive schedule and create new rivalries".
As mentioned by the Colonial League President and Northern Lehigh Athletic Director Bryan Geist, "44% of games between large schools and small schools are blowouts".
The 28 schools will be broken down into 4 divisions who will compete against each other over the 10-Week season:
Gold Division: Bangor, Blue Mountain, Lehighton, Northwestern Lehigh, Pottsville, Saucon Valley, Southern Lehigh, and Wilson
Red Division: Jim Thorpe, North Schuylkill, Northern Lehigh, Notre Dame of Green Pond, Palisades, Pen Argyl, Salisbury, and Tamaqua
White Division: Pine Grove, Schuylkill Haven, Mahanoy Area, Catasaqua, Palmerton, and Minersville
Blue Division: Panther Valley, Shenandoah Valley, Marian Catholic, Tri-Valley, Nativity BVM, and Williams Valley.
League games will be played weeks 5 through 9 for the White and Blue Division and Weeks 3 through 9 for Gold and Red.
A Schuylkill and Colonial League will each crown a Champion. Each division will also crown a Champion.
