At 8:00pm, Saturday, Ashland fire crews were dispatched to 228 South Hoffman Boulevard for a garage fire.
Police and the first firefighters on scene found heavy smoke coming the garage in the alley behind the home.
The fire was found near a wood burner inside the garage and quickly extinguished.
The garage sustained minor damage.
According to the Ashland Fire Chief Philip Groody, the cause of the fire was undetermined and police and fire officials are investigating an exact cause.
Ashland American Hose and Washington Fire remained at the scene for nearly an hour before clearing.
