A community walk/run is scheduled in Shenandoah to help the fight against cancer.
The Shenandoah Area Free Public Library will sponsor a community walk against cancer. It will also commemorate the 5th annual walk in memory of Attorney Kathie Palubinsky, a former library board member who passed away from metastatic breast cancer.
The Shenandoah Area Free Public Library will sponsor a community walk against cancer. It will also commemorate the 5th annual walk in memory of Attorney Kathie Palubinsky, a former library board member who passed away from metastatic breast cancer.
There is no cost to participate in the walk. The walk is approximately one-half mile on the grounds of the Shenandoah Valley High School.
There will also be a 5k run in memory of Krystal Lombardo, sponsored by her sister Desiree Dunleavy. The cost of the 5k run is $25 with proceeds going to a memorial scholarship fund in memory of Krystal, who passed away from a brain tumor. A t-shirt is included and medals will be given to the first 3 male and female finishers.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Shenandoah Valley High School. The event opens at 9:00pm with the walk and run starting at 10:00am
We all have a common enemy – cancer. Many are impacted by this disease. This event will allow patients, families, and, care givers a chance to share their story, be supported, and alleviate stress.
Healthy snacks will be available. There will be a ticket raffle for gift baskets to benefit both the library and scholarship fund. Registration starts at 9am.

For the patients battling this disease, the survivors, the heroes taken, this IS a cause worth fighting for and we hope you will join us.
