The event was sponsored and benefited the Pottsville District Libraries, which includes the Pottsville Library, Ashland Library, Frackville Library, Orwigsburg Library, Ringtown Library, Tamaqua Library, and Tremont Library.
The contest was broken into an over 18 and under 18 division, with each division being judged in 4 categories, an overall, best appearance, best presentation, and best taste.
Prior to the event, 48 bakers preregistered to compete.
Participants were required to bake, create, and design 3 dozen cupcakes.
Non-bakers were able attend and pay $5.00 to participate by being a judge which included being a taste tester.
