This youth vocal competition is sponsored by the Schuylkill Theater Association and will be held at the Fairlane Village Mall.
The winner of the 2018 event was then 11 year old Aidan Grace who became the youngest Junior Idol winner.
This year’s event begins on Tuesday, April 2 at with the preliminary round at 6:00 p.m. and will continue the four Tuesday’s in April. Pre-registration is a must. Deadline to register is March 25, 2019.
On Tuesday, April 2, youngsters participating will sing a song of their choice from any genre of music. The song can not be any longer than 3 minutes.
Music must be instrumental only. Contestants can not sing along to words on a song. Also, no a Capella singing is permitted and no instrument accompanist by performer or with performer.
The top 10 performers from the preliminary round will be made public on the "Schuylkill Theater" facebook page the day following the preliminary round. Those 10 performers will then move onto the next round to be held the following Tuesday, April 9th
From there the top six will sing on April 16th. The top three will sing in the finals on April 23rd where the 2018 Junior Idol winner will be announced.
The winner will earn the honor of being the new Junior Idol. There will also be prizes presented.
