Gregory J. Stanalonis, 58, Frackville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday at his residence.

Born in Palmyra he was a son of the late Bernard G. and Jeannine M. Hoeing Stanalonis.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville.

Greg earned a BA degree from Millersville University in computer science and hotel management. He had managed the former Fountain Springs Country Club and also the Treadway Inn , Pottsville. At one time he had owned and trained his own racing horses. He was a former PIAA official for several years. Greg was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Flyers fan and also enjoyed watching golf tournaments but most of all he was a devoted husband and father, his wife, children and grandchildren meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Lou Murphy Stanalonis.

Greg is survived by his wife of 18 years Jennifer Paradiso Stanalonis, two sons and two daughters; Gregory R and Christopher Stanalonis, Ariel Stanalonis all of Frackville, Amanda Cass, Pottsville, his two grandchildren; Chelsea and Liam Cass, two brothers; Paul B. ( Heidi ) Stanalonis, Mechanicsburg and Bernard F. ( Melissa ) Stanalonis, Chambersburg, his sister Anne Kinch, Harrisburg and also 3 nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9th, in Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church, Frackville, with Rev. Brian Miller, pastor as the celebrant. Viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until time of mass. Interment will be in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions, in Greg’s name, to the American Cancer Society.

Joan E. Skymba, 84 years of age, formerly of Tamaqua, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, as a guest of the Orwigsburg Center.

Born Friday, December 14, 1934 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania daughter of the late Helen (Daubenspeck) Walker. She was also predeceased by; her husband Frank Skymba on Sept. 2, 1996; step father, Bill Walker; brother, Robert Daubenspeck.

Surviving are, daughter, Donna (Skymba) Taylor wife of Gary of Lemon Grove, CA.; son, Frank L. Skymba.

Joan had worked in the Textile Industry.

Mary J. Minichbach, 73, of Halton Hill Rd., Pine Grove, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born on October 24, 1945 in Donaldson, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Ney Bressler.

She was a member of Most Blessed Trinity Parish, Tremont.
Mary was a Bank Teller for Fulton Bank, Pine Grove.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Patty Sue Hatter and Emily Jane Boyer.

Surviving are her husband of almost 57 years, Thomas Minnichbach; two sons, Eric and wife Sharon Minichbach of Pine Grove, Matthew and wife Nikki Minichbach of Pottstown; three grandchildren, Tara Stoudt, Kirsten Kohr, and Meg Minichbach; many great grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon and husband Robert Lemke, Betty and husband James Luckenbill, both of Pine Grove; brother, Thomas and wife Linda Bressler of Donaldson.

All Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Alex “Satch” Peleschak, 84, a lifelong resident of Frackville, passed away Friday morning at his home.

Born in Frackville, Octoer 2, 1934, he was a son of the late Alexander and Helen Ritzko Peleschak. He was a graduate of Frackville High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines during the Korean War attained the rank of Corporal, served as an aircraft mechanic and last served with the 4th MCR & RD, Philadelphia.

He worked for ConRail, Reading Depot as a conductor and brakeman for 36 years and for the past several years he enjoyed buying and selling at auctions.

He was a member of the holy Ascension Orthodox church, Frackville

Alex is survived by his wife Anna Chuma Peleschak, Frackville; a daughter Sandra A. Peleschak, Nebraska; two sons; David and Stephen Peleschak, both of Frackville.

Services with Military Honors will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Shirley A. Woodring, 83, a lifelong resident of Frackville passed away Monday morning at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Frackville, October 8, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John and Katherine Dower Harris. She was a graduate of West Mahanoy Township High School.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Frackville; she was also a member of the American Legion Post #398 Ladies Auxiliary; and the Frackville and Shenandoah Senior Citizens.

Shirley worked at the former Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven, for over 25 years in housekeeping; she last worked for Sears at the former Schuylkill Mall, Frackville, for over 20 years.

Shirley absolutely lived for her family. She was known for her infectious smile and generous spirit, and enjoyed bingo, casinos and the Washington Redskins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Betty Harris; brothers John, Eugene “Sonny”, Edward, Joseph, Ronald, Robert Harris and William Dower;

Shirley is survived by her daughter Kathy Burda, Frackville; three grandchildren; Daniel MacArthur and wife Amanda; Kendyl Moyer and husband Seth and Kevin MacArthur; two great-granddaughters; a sister; Joan Morgan, Frackville; a brother; Thomas Harris, Hudson, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

Religious Services will be held at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Frackville, with Rev. David J. Davis, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening and again from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment will be Odd Fellows Cemetery, Frackville.

Karen F. Ulshafer, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother of Andreas, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest Blvd. in Salisbury Township at the age of 71.

Survived by; husband and best friend, Eugene R. Ulshafer; son, Slayton Altenburg and his wife, Leanna, stepsons Jason R. Ulshafer and his wife Melani and Brian R. Ulshafer, sister, Deborah Falvey and her husband, MyronTutunjian and their children Evan, Kathryn and Alyssa; grand children Ethan, Lily, Montgomeri and Hunter

Born Thursday, October 2, 1947 in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Richard Falvey and the late Isabelle M. (Ringstrom) Falvey.

Karen was Lutheran by faith and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Physical Therapy. She enjoyed skiing, travel, mountain biking, hiking and kayaking as well as reading.
