Margaret E. Schaeffer, 98, of Locustdale, PA passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.
Born on November 9, 1920 in Mahanoy City, PA the daughter of the late Sam and Anna (Ashfield) Shields.
Margaret attended Barnsville Schools. She worked in local garment companies until retirement. She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Independent Church, Locustdale.
Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband: Earl Wagner, 1945. Second husband: George Schaeffer, 1985. Two sons: James Schaeffer, 1994 and Robert Wagner, 1954. Five sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons: Earl husband of Gail Wagner of Danville, PA and John Schaeffer and his
companion Kim Krauskopp of Frederick, MD. Five grandchildren. Eleven great grandchildren, Nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Grace Evangelical Independent Church, Locustdale, PA with Rev. Rose Marquardt officiating. Interment at Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle, PA. Viewing 6:00-9:00 PM on Monday, April 22 at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland and 10:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23 at the Grace Evangelical Independent Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Grace Evangelical Independent Church, Main Street, Locustdale, PA 17945

Mary Rose Alshefski, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16th at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah, Pa. Born on November 19th, 1926 to the late Alphonso and Lucia Espositio Salvadore. She married Joseph J. "JA" Alshefski in September of 1950 who preceded her in death in October, 1998.
Mary worked for the local cigar factory and Jackie Garments for many years and also assisted her husband in his dry cleaning business. She was a member of the Amalgamated Garment Workers Union, an active member of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Shenandoah, and also belonged to the Holiday Lanes Bowling League. Mary also enjoyed going to the casino and she really loved to cook for her family.

Surviving are 1 son, Joseph T. Alshefski with his wife Patricia of Zion Grove, Pa, 1 brother, Danny with his wife Jennifer, and 1 sister, Grace. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Jospeh P. Alshefski, Shenandoah Heights, Tonia M. Selgrade with her husband Robert, Ashland, and Thomas J. Alshefski, Zion Grove, 5 great-grandchildren, or as she called them her "Angel Babies", Joseph Alshefski, Josh Alshefski, Monica Selgrade, Robert Selgrade, and Caison Alshefski, nieces and nephews also survive.
Scripture services will take place on Monday, April 22nd at 11am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah, with Msgr. Ronald Bocian officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday morning from 8:30am to 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
