Alaina Demalis, a junior Schreyer Honors student at the Pennsylvania State University majoring in kinesiology, has received the Evan Pugh Scholar Award for her 4.0 cumulative GPA.
The Evan Pugh scholars are those juniors & seniors who are in the upper 0.5 percent of their respective classes and have completed at least 48 graded Penn State credits at the end of the fall semester of the academic year in which the award is given. Candidates are eligible if they have been full time Penn State undergraduate students for at least four semesters prior to selection. The juniors this year have cumulative grade point averages of 3.98 and above. Eighty-seven students received this award.
Alaina was Valedictorian of the Shenandoah Valley Class of 2016, a member of the SV Chapter of the National Honor Society and the daughter of Anthony & Judy Demalis of Shenandoah Heights.
