According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Christine Moran, 54, and Josephine Kodis, 97, were found dead inside their home at 10 South 5th Street, Butler Township, near Frackville.
Police say they responded to a welfare check around 11:00am Thursday, when the two bodies were found.
Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner AndrewSzczyglak pronounced both dead around 11:30am, and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday to determine a cause of death.
