Lorraine M Kimmel, age 91, of Providence Place, Pine Grove, formerly of Valley View, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Providence Place.
She was born on Thursday, December 22, 1927, in Rough And Ready, a daughter of the late Charles W Paul and the late Katie S Schlegel Paul.
She was a 1945 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.
Lorraine was a cashier for the former Midway Supermarket, prior to her retirement.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.
Lorraine was an excellent seamstress and cook and enjoyed camping with her grandchildren and her dog, Lucky. She had a love for gardening and bird watching, especially cardinals.
Her husband, David W Kimmel passed away in 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents and by four brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki R Snyder of Hegins and Shelley A Wolfgang and her husband Donald of Hegins; a son, Brian D Vargo and his husband Michael of Mount Joy; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at 11:00 am, with Rev Mark Swanson officiating.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the church.
Burial will be made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View.

She was born July 5, 1952 in Pottsville, a daughter of Katherine "Kay" Pewor Barone, Pottsville and the late Angelo “Abe” Barone.
She was a 1970 graduate of Nativity BVM High School and a 1974 graduate of Immaculata College where she received degrees in biology and chemistry.
Kathy worked at the Lehigh Valley-Schuylkill Hospital where she began employment in 1974. Kathy was extremely passionate about her work with the Make-A-Wish foundation as a member since 1995. With this organization she granted countless wishes to terminally ill children. She was selfless in nature, often doing thoughtful things for those she cared about. Kathy was an avid reader, enjoyed baking and spending time in the company of her family and friends.
In addition to her mother Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Bruce, a brother, Gerard “Jerry” Barone and his wife Chris; her oldest son Chad, his wife Tracey, her youngest son Adam; her grandson Max; several nieces, nephews and adored family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 10th at 10am from St. Michael Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 538 Sunbury Street Minersville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from Thursday May, 9th from 6-8PM at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions made to Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, The Gulf Tower 707 Grant Street, 37th Floor Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1938 greaterpawv.wish.org. Interment will be private.

He was the husband of Sophia T. (nee Hulock) Price to whom he was married 70 years in February of this year. Born in Tamaqua on June 13, 1928, Dave was a son of the late Harold and Harriet (nee Jacquet) Price. In 1993, he retired from the position of superintendent of the Tamaqua Borough Water Department.
Dave attended the Tamaqua schools and was a member of the West Penn Rod & Gun Club and the Tamaqua East End Fire Company.
In addition to his wife, Sophia, he is survived by daughters, Marilyn Navitsky and her husband Philip and Patricia Forester and her husband Joseph and son, David Price and his wife Annie, all of Tamaqua; grandchildren, Philip Navitsky, Stephen Navitsky, Ryan Navitsky, Timothy Navitsky, Micah Navitsky, Joseph Forester, II, Amber Forester, Grant Forester, David Price, Coleen Price, and Kaitlyn Price; 9 great grandchildren; 3 nieces; and 2 nephews.
David was predeceased by a brother, Harold Price; a sister, Margaret “Margie” Klein; and a great grandson, Pickle Rossohacy.

Joyce Reed Hoffman, 92, of Tower City, passed away Thursday May 2nd.
Born in Tower City, June 7, 1926, a daughter of the late Harry and Lena Rickert Reed.
Joyce retired after 25 years of service from Williams Valley School District as a high school secretary. Following retirement she could often be seen riding "shotgun" with her husband delivering oil for the family business, Shuey and Hoffman Fuels. She was a member of the Jr. Order of Mechanics.
Joyce loved her church, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, where she was a member of the choir for over seventy years, a former Sunday school teacher and played the piano as an accompaniment to the organ during Sunday worship services.
She enjoyed reading Guideposts magazine, doing puzzle's and spending evenings during the summer sitting on her porch chatting with friends and neighbors.
Joyce was an accomplished crocheter, making hundreds of baby sweaters, booties and blankets. She crocheted for Seafarers International making over 200 caps for sailors. Joyce will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and greeting you with a hug or a kiss.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Carl W. Hoffman. 2014; a sister Ramona Shuey and a brother Jack Reed.
Surviving are her two sons, Shawn Hoffman and his wife LuAnn, Williamstown and Peter Hoffman and his husband Robert Bellon, Tower City. Nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Joyce's life will take place on Friday, May 17th at 10:00 am from St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Lauren Blatt. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City. Visitation will be from 9-10 at the church. Following the services a luncheon and time of fellowship will be held in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 415 E. Grand Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980. Kenneth R. Keim, Sr., 84, of Tower City, passed away suddenly Thursday evening at his home.
Born in Pitman, January 14, 1935, a son of the late Ralph and Katherine Maurer Keim.
Ken was a retired mechanic from his families business, Stoney Mountain Trucking.
He was a long time member of the former Grace E.C. Church, Muir and a current member of the Ebenezer E.C. Church, Williamstown. He was a member of the Orwin, Muir and Sheridan Fire Companies.
He enjoyed spending time at his camp, Camp Chrissman and looked forward to having coffee at his home every morning with friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Marlene "Marty" Weikel Keim; seven children, Kathy Schoffstall (Robert); Patti Unger (Ted); Sharon Shutt (Donald); Kenneth Keim Jr., (Lynette) all of Tower City, Jamie Keim (Brenda), Muir, Jennifer Miller (Troy) and Robbie Keim (Amber) both of Tower City; three brothers, Paul Keim, Cleona; Gene Keim, Reinerton and Ralph Keim, Tower City; 21 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8th at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel.
