Donald “Donnie” Hughes, 74, of West West Terrace, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at the Lehigh Valley Schuylkill Hospital East. Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Davis Hughes.

He attended the Cass Twp Schools. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Minersville. He had worked construction, owned and operated Hughes Contracting with his brother, and later was a foreman with J.W. Zaprazny Inc. He served with the Pennsylvania National Guard. He was a former Past Master of Masonic Lodge 222, Cressona and was a member of the Tall Cedars. He was also a former member of the Minersville Lions Club.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and sitting out by his pool. He also enjoyed watching western shows on TV.

In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Lauren Murphy and a sister, Doris Klotunowitch.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former LaRae Gauntlett; a son Todd Hughes (Janine), West West Terrace; 2 daughters, Donelle Hughes (Brian), Pottsville and Kendra Deeter (Craig), Berry’s Grove; 9 grandchildren, Cody Hughes, Laykin Hughes, Drake Hughes , Rachel Hughes, Kyle Lucas, Blake Deeter, Kyra Deeter, Gavin Vesay and Ridge Vesay; 2 great-grandchildren, Deegan and Isabella; a brother Joseph Hughes and his wife Antoinette, West West Terrace; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Friday morning at 10 AM from the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville. Rev. Joan Weiderhold, Pastor of the First Congregational Church will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM and on Friday morning from 7AM until the time of the service. A Masonic Service will be held 6:30PM on Thursday evening. Private Interment in Mt. Peace Cemetery, Minersville will be at the convenience of the family.

The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Donald to the American Cancer Society, 101 W. Frack St., Frackville, Pa. 17931 or to the First Congregational Church, 315 Sunbury St., Minersville 17954. Contributions will also be accepted at the funeral home. Margaret Yasenchak, 93, Mary D, PA, died on January 21, 2019. On August 2, 1925, she was born Margaret Susan Tomchick to father Adam Tomchick and mother Mary Cizmar in Coaldale, PA.

Margaret is pre-deceased by her husband John and her brother George and sisters Ann, Rose, and Betty. She is survived by her son John, Bangor, Maine, and daughter Mary, Catawissa, PA, and her dear cousin Dorothy Tomchick, Coaldale.

In her early life, Margaret worked at the Atlas Powder Company, Wood Brothers Chocolate Shop, and Ss. Peter and Paul School cafeteria. But for many years, she remained at home lovingly caring for her ailing husband. We are grateful for the care received at St. Luke’s Nursing and Rehab Center, Coaldale. We are also grateful for friends who supported Margaret, especially Deb and Glenn Balliet. Margaret was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Brockton, PA.

She had special devotion for Mother Mary.

Office of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. James Carroll officiating.

Interment in St. Mary Byzantine Cemetery, Tuscarora will follow the services. Call 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donate to St. Mary BCC, Brockton in care of 621 West Mahanoy Street, Mahanoy City, PA 17948.

John J. Bova, 81, of Ringtown, passed away Sunday, May 12th, 2019 while a guest at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehab Center in Shenandoah Heights.

John was born in Shenandoah, on October 13, 1937, a son of the late Rose (Damato) and Peter Bova.

After high school, John served in the U.S. Army.

He rwas a etired Shipping Manager for the former Tyco Plastics , which was formerly the Yankee Plastics Plant in Ringtown.,After retirement, he drove school bus for Zimmerman Busing in Ringtown.

John attended the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Shenandoah.

He loved attending corvette shows, and had several corvettes during his lifetime. He also enjoyed fishing and oil painting.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Matski) Bova, on March 26 , 2018; a son, John and by siblings Anthony, Harry and Rose.

He is survived by his daughter Rose Marie Stravinsky, and by 2 grandchildren, Dalton Stravinsky and Shaunna Demetrius.

Private funeral services will be accorded to John's wishes.
