Marie T. Lucas, 90 Lavelle,PA , passed away Sunday, May 19th, 2019 at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, PA. Born in Girardville, PA August 29, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Rice) Beneshunas. She was an active member of Christ Congregational UCC in Ft. Springs,PA. She was a member of the Fountain Springs Fire Company holding the office of Treasurer for 42 years for the Ladies Auxiliary; running bingo and cooking food for many functions throughout the years. She attended St. Vincent's High School in Girardville.
Preceding her in death were three sisters and four brothers: Connie Sheuren, Dorothy McGurl, Anna Debuski, Albert, Edward, Joseph and Anthony Beneshunas. 

A daughter and son survive: Bonnie wife of David Kessler, Lavelle, PA and Larry husband of Janine Lucas of Ft. Springs, PA. Three grandchildren: James, Jonathan, and Taylor . Three great-grandchildren: Kailee, Brandon and Reagan. Nieces and nephews survive 

Services will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from Christ Congregational UCC, Ft. Springs,PA . Interment in Christ Church Cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA. Viewing and visitation Wednesday 10:00-12:00 P.M. from Christ Congregational Church, Ft. Springs. Memorial contributions can be made to Christ Congregational Church, Broad St., Ashland, PA 17921; Ft. Springs Fire Company, 1 Fountain St., Ft. Springs, PA 17921 or the Lavelle Fire Company

Richard P "Dick" Wolff, Jr, age 82, of Tremont, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at his residence.

He was born on Saturday, January 16, 1937, in Tremont, a son of the late Richard P Wolff, Sr and the late Gladys Freeman Wolff.

He was a graduate of the former Tremont High School and also attended Penn State University.

Dick was a sales representative for Eagle Claw, and in his later years he was a photographer and published articles about the outdoors for Appalachian Outdoor Images and various newspapers.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View.

He was also a member of F&AM Swatara Lodge 267, Tremont.

His wife, Gayle E Gillespie Wolff passed away in 1988. He was also preceded in death by a son, Bryon Pillar and a daughter, Amy Wolff.

He is survived by a son, Paul Freeman of Dallastown; four grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Wolff of Tremont and Ronald Wolff of Cumberland, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Brian Beissel officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.

Burial with Military Honors will be made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Valley View.

Floyd H. Fidler, Sr., 82, of Pottsville, formerly of Orwigsburg, passed away Sunday, May 19th, at his granddaughter, Tonya's home, surrounded by family.

Born in Pottsville on November 6, 1936, he was a son of the late Herman & Verna (Wessner) Fidler.

He was the widower of Madeline June (Geiger) Fidler, who passed away in 2008.

In addition to his parents, and wife, Floyd is also preceded in death in 1968 by his son, Randolph Lee Fidler.

Floyd was a graduate of Auburn High School, Class of 1954.

He worked various jobs and owned & operated several businesses including Bear Creek Tire, & Country Butcher Shop.

As an avid outdoorsman, Floyd, who was also known to some as "FID" and "Herm", enjoyed shooting, fishing, hunting, & butchering. He loved tending to his gardens, as well as jarring, cooking, and grilling. A jack of all trades, Floyd enjoyed working on vehicles, and making crafts with plastic canvas. As a self-proclaimed "pack rat", he collected everything, and liked having yard sales. These hobbies were important to Floyd, but the great joy of his life was spending time with his family, and taking care of his beloved Toy Poodle, Keshia.

He is survived by two sons: Floyd H. Fidler, Jr., & Darryl Fidler, & wife, Patti, and a daughter, Faith Wertman, wife of the late Tom Wertman. He is also survived by grandchildren: Tonya Shappell - who also served as her Pap's caretaker, & her husband, Greg, Jeff Fidler, Travis Leymeister & wife, Vicki, and Cody, & Kendra Wertman, great-grandchildren: Bryce, & Brayden Shappell, Gavin, Skyler, & Ryder Leymeister, Liam, & Madalynn Fidler, and Tylee Ruhl, great-great-grandchild, Hayden Balthaser, two sisters: Edie Courtney, & Dottie Noecker, and a brother, Bruce Fidler.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 23rd, with Chaplain Rodney Weaver officiating.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Saint John's New Cemetery, Auburn.

Richard Griffin, 60, Frackville, passed away on Friday afternoon at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehab Center, Frackville.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Richard Sr. and Margaret Bove Griffin.

Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Rose Marie A. Koury, 78, of Shenandoah, Pa, passed away on Monday, May 20th at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah. She was born in Shenandoah on September 26th, 1940 to the late Walter and Valeria "Lorman" Cichucki.

She worked as a cook for the AMVETS in Shenandoah for many years. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, but her true joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, preceding her death were 1 son, John Koury and 1 infant brother, Edward Cichucki.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, John Koury, 1 son, Rev. James J. Koury - Boston, Ma, 1 daughter, Kathy Buchanan - Shenandoah, 1 daughter -in-law, Cheryl Koury - Harrisburg and 6 grandchildren, John Edward Koury Jr., Brittany Kathryn Buchanan, Danielle Elliott with husband Jason, Erin Marie Buchanan, Michael Joseph Koury, and Owin Elliott

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 24th at 11am in Divine Mercy Parish - Sacred Worship Site - St. Casimir's, 229 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian and con-celebrated by her son, Rev. James J. Koury. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday morning from 8am to 10:30am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
