Shenandoah Senior Living Community to Celebrate National Nursing Care Week

What are you doing for yourself and others every day? What makes you happy? How are you contributing to your happiness and the happiness of others? Every day, skilled nursing centers assist our seniors and people with disabilities in living their happiest and best lives.

That is why Shenandoah Senior Living Community is excited that the theme of this year’s National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW), formerly known as National Nursing Home Week, taking place from May 12 to 18, is “Live Soulfully.”

The theme “Live Soulfully” will celebrate skilled nursing centers, and their residents and staff, by showcasing how they achieve happy minds and healthy souls. Whether it’s planting, cooking, reading or listening to music, these centers pay it forward by helping individuals find happiness to improve quality of life. Centers will be encouraged to participate by hosting activities that display how they “Live Soulfully” and share their stories and experiences on social media.

"Shenandoah Senior Living Community takes pride in helping its residents achieve happiness every day. Our residents “Live Soulfully” by participating in daily activities including painting, gardening, exercising & listening to music. " said Renee Buchanan, Admissions/Marketing Director of Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Shenandoah Manor will be celebrating with a Carnival themed week of events & activities.

This year’s annual NSNCW observance recognizes the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. Each person in the long and post-acute care community contributes to improving the quality of life of all residents by providing a home away from home that allows them to Live Soulfully.

The community is invited to join in on the events this week which include, a Carnival Day with Appalachian Pet Farm on Monday, May 13th, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm, there will be vendors on campus Wednesday, May 15th with items available to purchase including The Crafty Crab & Thirty One, Thursday, May 16th enjoy entertainment with the Schuylkill County Polka Band and Tableside Magic by Jonathon, then on Friday, May 17th, 1:30pm, “ELVIS” (Jeff Swider) will be under the BIG TOP.
