According to Rush Township Police Chief Kenneth Zipovsky, on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at approximately 11:43am, a report was received that a 2-vehicle collision occurred in Rush Township at the intersection of Mahanoy Avenue and Marian Avenue.
Police responded and discovered that one of the vehicles had been flipped over onto its roof as a result of the collision, and the male driver was entrapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters from the Hometown Fire Department were able to remove the male from the vehicle.
Evidence at the scene determined that a Jeep Liberty being operated by a 17 year-old male juvenile from Summit Hill pulled out from a stop intersection on Marian Avenue when it was unsafe to do so.

The Jeep Liberty then collided with a Nissan Murano operated by Maryann Grega of Weatherly. As a result of the collision, the Jeep flipped onto its roof.
There was extensive damage to both vehicles and both were towed from the scene.

The driver of Jeep Liberty and his 3 male juvenile passengers were all treated at the scene and transported to local medical facilities for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Grega was also treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The Rush Township Police was assisted at the scene by the Hometown Fire Company, the Hometown Fire Police, McAdoo Ambulance, Tamaqua Ambulance, and APTS Ambulance.
