State Police have charged Robert G. Leonard, 44, of Lancaster in the killing of Terri Lynn Gee, 53, of Ephrata on January 6th at the Rausch Creek Trailriders Campground in Hegins Township.
Leonard was charged with Murder of the First Degree, Murder of the Third Degree, Aggravated Assault, Strangulation, Possession of a Weapon, Simple Assault, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
Police say around 8:00am, Sunday, January 6th, 2019, the staff at Rausch Creek Trailriders, Hegins Township, was contacted by Leonard who was staying at the camp.
Leonard was acting in an erratic manner and staff questioned him where his girlfriend was.
Around 10:30am, staff drove to Leonard's camp site and found the victim, Gee, in a Dodge Ram truck lying in the passenger's side seat.
Gee had severe head and neck trauma and was bleeding heavily.
EMS arrived on scene and transported the victim to a waiting helicopter where she was flown to Hershey Medical Center.
After arriving at the hospital, stab wounds were found on the victim and medical staff related some of her injuries were also consistent with strangulation.
Gee died from her injuries on January 9, 2019.
Leonard later told police that he and Gee were smoking meth the night before, but denied any wrongdoing.
The investigation led to police finding security footage of Leonard walking around carrying a knife. Blood found on the knife proved to be a DNA match with Gee's.
