Kathryn D. Case, 69 of Pottsville died Tuesday at Providence Place Retirement Community.
She was born Oct 26, 1949 in Pottsville a daughter of the late Paul L. Sr., and Sally Dragna Dimmerling.
She was a 1967 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and Shippensburg University with a degree in Elementary Education.
She taught 2nd grade at the former Garfield School and later John S. Clarke Elementary Center, Pottsville prior to retiring in 2005.
Kathy was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, Ivyside Swim Club, PSERS, and Coal Crackin Red Hats.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J. Terry Case, on September 28, 2014.
Surviving are two daughters, Kristyn Case-Blum and her husband Justin; Dr. Lindsay Case-Trout and her husband, TJ: 4 grandchildren, Landon J. and Avery K. Trout, Kara M. and Sydney A. Blum; a brother, Paul L. Dimmerling, Jr. and his wife, Joan Marie; Linda D. Humphrey and her husband James E., all of Pottsville; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11AM from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, with Rev. David J. Loeper as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to a viewing Thursday from 5-8PM at the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville and from 9:30AM-10:30 Friday at the funeral home. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions be made to J. Terry Case Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Pottsville Area High School, 16th and Elk Ave, Pottsville, PA 17901 or the Pottsville Free Public Library 217 W. Market St. Pottsville PA, 17901 . Interment will be in St. John No. 2 Cemetery, Pottsville.

Joseph Balulis, 81, of Seltzer, Norwegian Township, passed away on Thursday at home.
Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Albert and Anna Harkins Balulis. He was a 1956 graduate of Nativity B.V.M. High School, and worked on building construction in the masonry trades.
He was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, Minersville, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Seltzer Gun Club and the Seltzer Hose Company.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Albert Balulis, Jr., an infant, in 1936, and John Balulis, in 2017.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Orlosky, with whom he would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on July 1; a daughter, Ann Marie Hoffman (spouse, Duane), Orwigsburg; a son, Timothy Balulis, Pottsville; two grandchildren, Kevin Hoffman and Kassidy Balulis. He is also survived by two siblings, William Balulis (spouse, Mary), Seltzer, and Joan Hufnagle, Seltzer; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Sunday from 6:00 P.M. and on Monday from 6:00 A.M. until the time of service at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, North Manheim Township.

Alice H. Buchman, 95, Frackville, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, where she had been a guest for the past 10 years.
Born in Frackville she was a daughter of the late Kasimir and Mary Makauskas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years Edward “Flagy” Buchman in 1986, her 5 sisters; Connie Lenchowski, Adele Umani, Aldona Anfuso, Mary Bukovsky and Blanche Yurekli, 2 brothers; Joseph and Victor Makauskas.
Alice is survived by her son Jim “Flagy” and his wife Janet Buchman, Frackville, her daughter Sharon wife of Vic Sherkness, McAdoo, her grandchildren; Jared and his wife Amy Buchman, New Ringgold and Kristen wife of Jeff Karwacki, Macungie, 3 great-grandchildren; Tyler and Emily Buchman and Tanner Karwacki also a nephew Ted Makauskas, Lancaster, Pa.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, with Rev. Barry Brown officiating. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Frackville. A viewing will be held from 8 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m..

Kolten Allen Carl, 30, of S. Tulpehocken St. Pine Grove, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at home.
Born on February 23, 1989 in Pottsville, he was a son of Cindy Carl of Pine Grove and the late John Huth Jr.
He was a 2008 graduate of Pine Grove High School
Kolten worked as a Balancer for MI Windows and Doors.
He loved fishing, four wheeling, swimming, camping and going to the camper at Rehobeth Beach, DE.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents James and Martha Carl and John Sr. and Laverne Huth, all of Tremont.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a brother John Huth III and his wife Melinda of Arlington, VA and their children Landon, Jacob and Mallory; his cousins that he lived with, who were like his sisters and brothers: Erika Carl and her boyfriend Shawn Boltz and their daughter Emmalynn Boltz, Kayla Carl and her daughter Braelynn Carl, Kaitlyn, Brooke, John Jr., and Kristian Carl; a sister Cortney Huth.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from Noon until 2:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions in his memory be made to the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc.,139 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 to help with expenses.
