In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 22nd, 2019, the Minersville Police along with help from members of the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole and the U.S. Marshal, took two men wanted by the FBI into custody.
After an investigation, Minersville Police learned that Joel "Jay" Datil, 21, AKA "Countyboy Dough" of Reading would be in the borough in the early morning hours of Saturday to sell drugs.
Around 2:00am, Saturday, the deal took place when Datil, as a passenger in a vehicle, driven by Kendall Donjour Clark, 23, of Reading, arrived in Minersville. Police and authorities moved in and took both into custody.
Inside the vehicle driven by Clark, police found 4.17 ounces of methamphetamine, which has a street value of about $12,600.
Datil was also found with a Kel Tec 9 mm handgun and $302 in cash.
Clark was found to be a fugitive of Probation and Parole, as well as the FBI.
Datil was charged by Minersville Patrolman Jeffrey Bowers with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, receiving stolen property, persons not to possess, use, manufacture, control, sell or transfer firearms, firearms not to be carried without a license, conspiracy to commit possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia
Clark was charged with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $100,000 straight cash bail.
