A Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner was called to the scene of a crash Tuesday morning near Friendensburg.Just after 6:00am, emergency personnel were dispatched to 912 Long Run Road (Route 443), Wayne Township, near Pine Grove for a motor vehicle accident with heavy entrapment.
The crash reportedly involved a garbage truck and vehicle with two people entrapped.
One person was transported via helicopter to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The second person was pronounced dead at the scene by a Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner.
Update: The victim has been identified as Robert Schaeffer, 63, who was the passenger in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Joseph Kopinetz, was seriously injured. The driver of the garbage truck was not injured.
