Late Tuesday afternoon, Mahanoy Township Police, Mahanoy Township Code Enforcement, and members of the Hillside SPCA responded to 65 High Road, Park Place, in Mahanoy Township after a prior investigation led to the finding of the animals.
In all, the owner willingly surrendered 18 animals, including 3 dogs, and 15 cats.. The SPCA is still attempting to catch 4 cats at a later date. Two of the cats were reported to be pregnant.
The animals will be evaluated to determine their condition.
