Stephen L. Lonsdale, 53, formerly of Wilburton, PA passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA.
Born December 5, 1965 in Shamokin, PA the son of Emma (Colahan) Lonsdale of Wilburton and the late Dale Lonsdale, 2009.
Stephen graduated from North Schuylkill High School. He worked in security at Lehigh Valley Schuylkill East Medical Center, Pottsville for 27 years. Stephen was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. He enjoyed golfing, billiards, and spending time with his family, friends, and co-workers.
In addition to his mother, Stephen is survived by his companion of 29 years: Jane Dobson of Auburn, PA. Sister: Linda wife of Rick Hicks. Brother: Robert Lonsdale. Step-daughter: Angelina Feno. Step-granddaughters: Tabatha Feno, Colette Feno, and Ava Werner. Nieces and nephew: Jennifer (Minnig) Stephens, Danielle (Minnig) Zeigler, and Thomas Minnig Jr. Sister of Jane: Marie Wetzel.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday, July 5, 2019 at Rothermel-Heizenroth Funeral Services, Mt. Carmel with Rev. Joan Brown officiating. Interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Viewing Friday, July 5 10:00 AM until the time of service at Rothermel-Heizenroth Funeral Services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hillside Society 51 SPCA Rd, Pottsville, PA 17901 .

Betty R. Whalen, 86, of Shenandoah passed away on Monday, July 1st at Ridgeview Health & Rehabilitation in Shenandoah Heights. She was born in Shenandoah on September 8th, 1932 to the late William and Ruth “Ecker” Guers.
Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Whalen and also a son, Francis Whalen.
Surviving are her cousin and caregiver, Carol K. Wesolowski of South Carolina, her dear friend, Irene Lewandowski, several other cousins and friends, and her faithful companion, her dog- Sweet Pea
Betty worked at the Shenandoah Manor for many years in the laundry department. She liked to collect dolls, angels, and various other knick-knacks. She also enjoyed traveling in her younger years. Betty leaves us with her favorite saying “God be with you till we meet again”.
Scripture Services will be held on Friday, July 5th at 12pm in the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah with Pastor Mindy Heppe officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday morning from 11am to 12pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
