Lehigh Valley Welcomes Two New Gynecological Practices in Frackville and Pottsville

On Wednesday, Lehigh Valley Physician Group (LVPG)–Schuylkill welcomed two new gynecology practices to Frackville and Pottsville.

· LVPG Gynecology–Frackville is located at 10- E. Spruce Street, Frackville.
· LVPG Gynecology–Schuylkill Manor Road is located at 700 Schuylkill Manor Road, Suite Six, Pottsville.

Ilene Weizer, MD, and Kathleen Katulis, CRNP, will serve at both locations and are joined by a full support team. Katz Weizer is certified to use the daVinci® robotic surgery system at LVH–Schuylkill, the only location in Schuylkill County to offer this leading-edge technology.

Ilene Weizer, MD, is a graduate of Union College, Schenectady, N.Y. with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She earned her medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency also at Hahnemann. Weizer is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has practiced in Schuylkill County for more than 20 years.

Kathleen Katulis, CRNP, earned her bachelor's in nursing from West Chester University, West Chester, Pa., and her master's in nursing from University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She is a certified registered nurse practitioner.



Previously, Katulis worked at A Woman’s CARE OB-GYN, Palo Alto, Pa., and Mt. Carmel, Pa., as a certified registered nurse practitioner where her scope of practice included family planning, infertility, gynecological, first trimester obstetrical and postpartum care. Before that, she served at Pocono Midwives and Associates, LLC, Stroudsburg, Pa., and Schuylkill Medical Center East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

Katulis is a member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
