Daniel F. Carroll, 65, of Minersville, passed away at UPMC – Harrisburg on Friday.

Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Martin and Florence Brady Carroll. He was a 1971 graduate of Nativity B.V.M. High School and attended Penn State. He had been employed as manager of the sporting goods department at Boscov’s, Pottsville, later working in seasonal goods.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Minersville. He enjoyed golfing t Hidden Valley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Carroll, on July 21.

Dan is survived by two sisters, Mary Anne Cauley, West Springfield, Massachussetts, and Diane Jocken, Mechanicsburg; six nieces and nephews; eleven great nieces and nephews; two paternal aunts, Rita Larkin and Teresa Witman, both of Branchdale.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 539 Sunbury Street, Minersville. Friends may call at the church from 8:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. Interment will be in St. Vincent de Paul #2 Cemetery, Branch Township. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers remembrances to the Alzheimers Association (www.alz.org), American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or Hospice of Center Pennsylvania (www.hospiceofcentralpa.org). Dutcavich Funeral Home has charge.

Irene B. Novotny, 93, of York, formerly of Orwigsburg, passed away on Saturday at York Hospital.

Born in Minersville, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Stella Soboleski Marchick. She was a 1943 graduate of Minersville High School. She worked in the Office of the Inspector General before returning to Schuylkill County.

She was a member of St. Ambrose R.C. Church, Schuylkill Haven.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Novotny, in 2012; her daughter, Gail Snyder, in 1983; a nephew, Kenneth Marchick, in 1996.

Irene is survived by her brother, James Marchick (spouse, Beverly), Mechanicsburg; a niece, Diane Maiman; a nephew, David Marchick.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. in St. Ambrose Church, 201 Randel St., Schuylkill Haven. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka #2 Cemetery, Branch Township.

Roy Warren Weaver, 66, of Orwigsburg, passed away Sunday, August 4th, at Lebanon VA Medical Center.

Roy was born in the Bronx, New York on March 4, 1953, a son of the late Francis and Clarence Weaver.

He was the husband of Barbara (Foose) Weaver. They were married 42 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Roy loved antiquing, collectables and the Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his daughter, Amanda Weaver and his son, Jason Weaver, husband of Jenny.

He is also survived by grandchildren McKenna & Angel, nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by 3 sisters as well as a son, Kenneth.

Services are private, at the convenience of family, entrusted to the Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg

Almeda E. (Dolly) Keller, 85, of Orwigsburg, died Sunday, August 4th, at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

Dolly was born in Pottsville, on September 23, 1933, a daughter of the late Almeda L. (Freeman) and Elmer R. Zimmerman.

She was the widow of Robert J. Keller.

Dolly was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg and a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1951.

She was employed in the Administrative Office at the Blue Mountain Middle School. She retired in 2002 after 33 years of service. She loved to sing and had a beautiful singing voice. She loved rabbits and cared for them as pets.

Dolly is survived by her two sons Robert E. Keller, husband of Linda and Neill Keller. Dolly is also survived by her sister, Gayle, wife of Edward Hurst; Granddaughter Amanda Rymarkiewicz-Bobella, wife of Stephen, Grandson Robert S. Keller, husband of Gina; Great Granddaughters Haley & Lola Rymarkiewicz ; Nieces & Nephews

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers Elmer, Major Harry, & S. Allen Zimmerman and 3 sisters, Sylvia Evans, Betty Thomas-Gilfillan & Elaine Evans, RN.

A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 12th at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, with Rev. Michael Petresky officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until time of service, in the funeral home. Interment will be private.

Lois M. White-Kramer, 97, of Tremont, passed away Monday evening, August 5th.

Born in Swatara, November 19, 1921, a daughter of the late Frank and Edna Griffiths White.

Lois was a graduate of the former Reilly Township High School.

She was a retired seamstress from the former Fox Knapp, Mfg. Company, Pine Grove.

She was a member of St. Johns Church, Newtown.

Lois was accomplished at crocheting and did so up until a few weeks ago. She enjoyed being in her yard and the roses in her garden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, 2006; a brother, Alfred White; a sister, Alice Frew; and a nephew, Wayne Frew, Sr.

Surviving are her niece, Joan White-Dimon and her husband Scott F., Pine Grove; a niece-in-law, Mary Kathryn Frew, Tremont; great nieces and nephews, Scott Dimon, Pine Grove; Alan Dimon, New Holland; Helenkay Dimon-Miyazawa, San Diego, CA; Christine Betz, Pine Grove; Angela Flannery, Newtown and Wayne Frew, Jr., Cumbola; numerous great great, great great great and great great great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 9th at 11:00 am from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tower City with Rev. Dr. Krista Roehrig. Burial will be in the Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel.
