According to Mahanoy Township Police, on August 29th, 2019, Damian Hopkins, 34, punched and strangled a woman during an incident.
On Wednesday, September 4th, 2019, around 10:00am, Hopkins was taken into custody by Chief Brandon Alexander and charged with aggravated assault, Strangulation, Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering another Person.
Hopkins was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Kilker and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
Assisting Mahanoy Township Police were police from Mahanoy City, East Union Township, State Police, and State Parole.
