The Schuylkill County Transportation Authority will be introducing to the public it’s brand new fixed route #80 Southern Loop .
The first bus to head out of Union Station in Pottsville will be 10:00 a.m. with two other departure times of 12 Noon and 2:00 p.m. respectfully.
Return times back to Union Station in Pottsville from the Hamburg Tilden Ridge Complex are scheduled for 11:00 a.m.; 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Key stops along this particular route include the borough of Schuylkill Haven, The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV); the borough of Orwigsburg, the Geisinger Medical Bldg., the new Geisinger/St. Luke’s Hospital, the Tilden Ridge Complex @ Walmart, the Strip Mall in the Complex, Logan’s Steak House, Cabela’s, Red Robin and will even make a connection at Cabela’s with Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA) for passengers to ride into the city of Reading.
The Schuylkill Transportation System is also “kicking off” this new route by offering passengers the opportunity to ride for FREE the entire week of Monday, November 4th thru Friday, November 8th .
Dave Bekisz, Executive Director and Gary Martinaitis, Director of Operations believe the new route will compliment and work well in conjunction with the opening of St. Luke’s/Geisinger hospital and the influx of new business and shopping opportunities in the Hamburg area.
