William Henry Evans III “Hen”, 53, formerly of Pottsville, passed away November 27, 2019 at his residence.
Born in Reading, November 23, 1966, he was the son of the late William H. Evans Jr. and Judy Steffanic of Pottsville.
William was a Pottsville High School graduate. He recently retired from Lehigh Hanson Heidelberg Cement Group and was the past Union President of the United Steelworkers Local Union 54.
He enjoyed watching his football team, Steelers, playing softball, horse racing, and fishing. He also loved going to Rock concerts and golfing with his friends. Being the center of his family, he was a very devoted brother and son.
In addition to his mother he was survived by sister, Sherry Lynn Evans and nephew, Cody Bettinger.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 W. Market St., Pottsville. Pastor Chris Rothharpt will officate. Family and friends may call Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park LLC, Schuylkill Haven.

John William Heffner, Jr., 64 of Minersville, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 in the Tremont Health & Rehab Center.
Born on September 19, 1955 in Pottsville, he was a son of the late John W. Sr. and Erma Ketner Heffner.
He was a 1973 graduate of Pine Grove High School and a member of Hetzel's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.
John was an Army veteran having served in Germany.
He was a Finance Officer at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation and a Truck Driver.
He enjoyed watching sports on TV and Penn State.
Preceding him in death was a sister, Barbara Sheesley.
Surviving are two sisters, Susan Heffner of Pine Grove, Donna and husband Stephen Witmer of Ludowici, GA; a brother, Dale and wife Kendra Heffner of Pine Grove; nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
