James V. Wixted, 57, Ashland passed away peacefully on Friday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Hanover, he was a son of the late Bernard and Francis Dimmerling Wixted. Jim worked as a State Trooper for the Pennsylvania State Police for 25 years before retiring from the Frackville Barracks.
Jim was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Wixted and his brother Michael Wixted.
Jim is survived by his wife of 28 years, Laura L. Kennedy Wixted, Ashland; his son, James B. Wixted, Ashland and his daughter Megan Wixted, Ashland; his sister Marie and her husband Jeff Schuler, Mountain Top.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 28th at 11 a.m. from St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland with Rev. Edward B. Connolly as the celebrant. Friends are invited to call at the church on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will follow at Queen of the Universe Cemetery, St. Clair.

Irene L. (Andruscavage) Tym, 87 of Shenandoah passed away peacefully on Friday night, December 20, 2019 at her residence.
Born in Shenandoah on May 25, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Constantine and Elizabeth (Marcincavage) Andruscavage.
She was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Prior to her retirement, Irene was employed in production at Ateeco Inc., Mrs. T’s Pierogies, Shenandoah for over 30 years.
Irene was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah formerly St. Casimir’s Church. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, especially true crime novels. She enjoyed making trips to the casinos but above all she treasured the time spent traveling with her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia A. Wilson and her husband David of Barnesville; two sons, Walter R. Tym of Ashland and David S. Tym and his wife Bonita of Hubbard, Iowa; three grandchildren, Olivia Vanderhart and her husband Lane, Kentleigh Tym and Eden Tym; a daughter-in-law, Ann Tym of Shamokin; nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends and her faithful companion, her golden retriever, “Casey”.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband, Walter R. Tym on December 15, 2004. Born to a family of nine children, she was the last surviving member and was preceded in death by all eight of her siblings, including four brothers, Constantine, John, Alfred and Frank Andruscavage and four sisters, Pauline Zidik, Julie Bescript, Florence Gustites and Joan Butsko.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 10:00 am in St. Casimir’s Church, the sacred worship site of Divine Mercy Parish, 229 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am in the church. There will be no services from the funeral home.

Joan A. Edwards, 72, of Minersville, passed away on Friday at Schuylkill Center.
Born on October 12, 1947 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice Truscott Kuhl and the late Edwin Kuhl, former Minersville Police Chief. She was a Welsh-American descendant of the William Batten Truscott Family who came to this area from Bryn Mawr, South Wales in 1902. She was a 1965 graduate of Minersville Area High School and the former Thompson Institute, Harrisburg. She worked for the former First National Bank, Minersville, and was last employed by the former Ethel Maid, Inc., Schuylkill Haven.
She was a member of First Congregational Church, Minersville, where she served as organist and choir director for 22 years. There, she organized Gymanfas and a Community Choir to sing at the Church's St. David's Day celebrations. She also played Gymanfas in Saint Clair Bethlehem Baptist Church for 15 years, as well as Playing Gymanfas in Hazleton, Shenandoah and Philadelphia under the direction of Dr. Carlton Jones Lake. Joan organized bus tours to hear several Welsh Choirs from Wales and to attend the Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu conventions held each Labor Day in the U.S. and Canada.
She was also a member of the Schuylkill-Carbon Saint David’s Society, joining the Board of Directors in 1985, and serving as its second female president. She organized Welsh Marketplace Tables at banquets, as well as serving as piano accompanist for Welsh Group Singing under the direction of the late Francis Portland.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Edwards, in 1983, and her second husband, Gordon Williams, in 2006.
Joan is survived by her brother, Robert Kuhl (spouse, Kim), Hockessin, Delaware; their four children, Jennifer Miller (spouse, David), Dr. Joshua Kuhl, Ian Kuhl and Haley Kuhl; several cousins, including Linda Fisher (spouse, David), Shrewsbury.
The family will accept visitors at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 10:30 A.M. Ruth L. Kisko, 73, of Lake Wynonah, formerly of Tremont, passed away on Friday at home.
Born in Saint Clair, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Betty Larish. She attended Saint Clair schools.
Ruth liked cooking, entertaining at home and grocery shopping. She also enjoyed playing bingo and cards, particularly rummy and poker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Carl Kisko, who passed away on March 23; a brother, Bill Larish.
Ruth is survived by three children, Christine Hazzard, (spouse, Charles), Lake Wynonah, Terry Cupit (spouse, Matthew), North Las Vegas, and John Kisko (spouse, Jane), York; a grandson, Charles C. Hazzard. She is also survived by a brother, James Larish, Saint Clair; nieces and nephews.
