Jane E. Ferrier, 98, formerly of Cressona, PA, passed away Saturday, December 21st, at Luther Ridge, Pottsville, where she had been a resident.
Born in Folsom, PA on January 9, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Alfred & Margaret (Kipp)Lee.
She was the widow of William Clair Ferrier, who passed away January 25, 1996.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ferrier is also preceded in death by her son, John Ferrier, October 5, 1972.
She was a 1939 graduate of Cressona High School, and a 1943 graduate of West Chester Teachers' College.
Mrs. Ferrier was formerly employed by the Cressona High School; retiring from the Blue Mountain School District in 1979.
She was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona; where she was a member of the choir, a former consistory member, and a Sunday School teacher.
Mrs. Ferrier was also a member of the Cressona Historical Society.
She is survived by three sons: William A. Ferrier & wife, Frances, Cobolo, TX, Lee C. Ferrier & partner, Ronald, Orwigsburg, & James R. Ferrier & wife, Diane, Schuylkill Haven, three granddaughters: Dr. Brook Banks & husband, Andy Miller, Chico, CA, Lauren Ives & husband, Robert, Milton, Ontario, and Jennifer Ferrier & husband, Howard Cooper, Lake Wynonah.Mrs. Ferrier is also survived by great-grandchildren: Anna Banks, Ryan Banks, Ian Miller, Meghan Miller, Parker Ives, Delaney Ives, Brandon Ferrier, & Alexandria Ferrier.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 28th, with Rev. Kevin Fruchtl officiating.
A viewing will be held Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service at the church.
Interment will follow the service at Cressona Cemetery, Cressona.

John J. Steffan, Jr., 84, of Pottsville, passed away on Monday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, with his family by his side.
Born in Pottsville, on September 8, 1935 , he was the son of the late John J. and Mary (Fedorchak) Steffan Sr.
John was a graduate of Pottsville High School. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville and a former member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Saint Clair and their Holy Name Society.
He worked at Exxon Chemical as a fork lift driver for 30 years, retiring in 1992.
John was a member of the Goodwill Hose Company and was very active in their fundraising functions.
He was an avid fan of the Philadephia Eagles, Phillies, and the 76ers. He also enjoyed polka music of which he had a vast collection, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juleanne M. (Sabulski), on November 30, 2015, and to whom he was married 48 years.
John is survived by daughter: Nancy M. Steffan, of Rockville, MD; sons: David M. Steffan, husband of Armila, of MarLin; Michael D. Steffan, husband of Tara, of Advance, NC; grandchildren: Justin, Jacqueline, Joshua, Madison, and Kennedy; sister, Helen Kane, of Mary D; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28th at 11:30 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Father David J. Loeper officiating. A viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Saint Clair.

She was born October 14, 1921 in Tamaqua daughter of the late George W., Sr and Isabel Keilman Smith.
She was a 1939 graduate of Pottsville High School.
She was employed by the former Biddle Sewing Manufacturer and was a teachers aide for Blue Mountain School District prior to retiring.
Dorothy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Harvey Mullin, 1978; her second husband James Beveridge, 2005; a brother George W. Smith, Jr.
Surviving are her children, Charles Mullin and his wife Judith, Camp Hill; Barbara Stamper, Bath; Craig Mullin and his wife Katherine, Duseldorf, Germany; Doug Mullin and his wife Denise, Pottsville; 8 grandchildren, Michelle Flohl, Andrea Mullin, Charlie Mullin, Lisa Eisenhower, Sarah, Matthew, Alexandra and Jillan Mullin

Shai P. Abrachinsky, 24, of Shenandoah, passed away on Sunday, December 22nd at his home. He was born on September 26th, 1995 in Pottsville, Pa to his mother Jaime Stevens and father Paul Abrachinsky.
Shai was a 2014 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School and while there, he played as a Blue Devil on the football team. He also loved baseball and off-roading. He was employed by Amazon Distribution.
Surviving are his mother, Jaime Stevens with his step-father, Greg Stevens - Shenandoah. Gary W. Joseph Sr., 68, of Shenandoah, passed away on Sunday evening, December 22nd surrounded by his family, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.
Born in Delaware County at the Chester Hospital on October 19th, 1951 he was the son of the late Leroy and Helen “Anniba” Joseph.
He was a life member of the Essington Fire Department holding several positions and a life member of the Shenandoah Heights Fire Department, where he served as bartender and steward for many years. He also served for the Shenandoah Heights Fire Police. Besides his passion for his fire companies, Gary loved racing and Nascar.
Besides his parents, Gary was preceded by a brother, Jack Joseph.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Diane “Muraczewski” Joseph, 5 sons, Michael and his wife Bobbi Jo Huggins – Shenandoah, Gary Joseph Jr. and his wife Tammy – Orwigsburg, Jasen Joseph and Tiffany – Shenandoah, Kenneth Joseph and Shannon – Minersville, and Zachary Joseph and Rachal – Shenandoah. Born Thursday, January 11, 1940, he was the son of the late Joseph Kamant and the late Isabelle (Adamitis) Kamant. He was the husband of the late Janet (Sherry) Kamant. Joseph, was also predeceased by; daughter, JoLynn Kamant; grandchildren, Jennilee Degiglio, Michael Oswald; brother, John (Jack) Kamant; sister, June Kamant.

Tom was a 1949 graduate of Porter Township High School.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
He was a retired carpenter from the former J.H. Deiter and Sons, Tower City.
Tom was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Reinerton where he was a Sunday school teacher, former member and secretary of the council, former member of the property committee and was active with the former madrigal dinner for many years, where he made most of the props.
Tom was a skilled woodworker, and could make almost anything, even helping build two homes. He was a jack of all trades who was always willing to lend a hand.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and camping.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Leila Fredericksen.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Kathryn E. Houtz Lewis; four children, Douglas, Tower City; Beverly Hand and her husband Greg, Williamstown; Deana Herb and her husband Kent, Tower City and Craig Lewis and his wife Dot, Millersburg; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
