The Saint Clair Police Department has charged a Pottsville man after a traffic stop on Saturday.According to Chief William Dempsey, on Saturday, January 11, 2020, officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Cherry and Wade Road. The driver, Brandon Moyer, 31, of Pottsville, failed to stop and drove into a private yard on Memorial Avenue.
Once stopped, Moyer refused to exit the vehicle. Officers smashed and window in attempt to remove Moyer but he continued to fight with police.
An officer deployed his taser to control Moyer and was able to take him into custody.
Moyer was found to be in possession of suboxone, klonopin, and methamphetamine.
Moyer was charged with fleeing or eluding police, resisting arrest, 3 counts of possession with a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Moyer was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Ferrier via video conference and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison and later release after posting $10,000 straight cash bail.
