On Tuesday, the final day of 2019, Schuylkill County's elected officials were sworn into office.The swearing-in ceremony took place at 10:00am in Courtroom 1 at the Schuylkill County Courthouse.
Those sworn in were the officials elected during the 2019 General Election and included Schuylkill County Commissioners George Halcovage, Frank Staudenmaier, and Gary Hess, Controller Christy Joy, Prothonotary Bridget M. Miller, Register of Wills Theresa Santai-Gaffney, Recorder of Deeds Ann Dudish, Coroner David J. Moylan, Treasurer Linda Marchalk, Clerk of Courts Maria Casey, and Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi.
In attendance to the ceremony were all the Schuylkill County judges except Judge Goodman, all of the Magisterial District Judges, Representative Neal Goodman, Congressman Dan Meuser, as well as the families and friends of those being sworn in.
After the ceremony, Judge William Baldwin recognized Schuylkill County Judge John Domalakes, who will be retiring as of March 6th, 2020.
"I want to take the opportunity this morning, to express our gratitude for all the hard work he has done on the bench over these many years and the outstanding service that he has given to the people of this county and to wish him well", said Judge Baldwin.
Domalakes, who was elected to the bench in 1993, said "It's been an honor and a joy to serve with these fellow members of the bench, on the best bench in Pennsylvania. I'm proud to have been a part of it for all these years. And to each of you, I say your support and contributions to the industry are greatly appreciated and to that I say Thank You"
