From the moment of birth until the night of death, life is a journey. The days of this pilgrimage are a gift from the Lord. Some will be happy, and some will be sad.
Born in Minersville on April 4, 1919, she was a daughter of Lithuanian immigrants, the late Frank and Mary Gavalis Galinis. She was raised in Phoenix Park, Branch Township and attended St. Francis Parochial School until receiving her First Communion, after which she attended Branch Township schools, where she was a drummer in the school Drum & Bugle Corps. She worked for a time in the local garment industry; and later was employed as a cook in a Pottsville restaurant.
After her marriage, she devoted all of her time to being a full-time, stay-at-home Mother, keeping a spotless home. Adele hosted all Holiday dinners, cooking and baking enough to send everyone home with packages for the next day. Her children alsways came first in everything, often doing without so they could have.
She was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church and a current member of St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Grabusky; three siblings, Joseph Galinis, Anna Kokitus and Mary Warner; her “grand-dog”, Schotzie.
Adele is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Grabusky, with whom she spent all of her time; her granddaughter of the heart, Heather Gnall; her “grand-dog”, Toby; grand-nieces, including a special niece, Jacqueline Kokitus.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, 139 Spruce Street, Minersville. Interment will be private in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery. Donations can be made to Mary Grabusky, 300 Lewis Street, Minersville, PA 17954.

Carol Anne Conville, 50, of Palo Alto, passed away in the presence of her family on Wednesday at home.
Born in Pottsville, she was a daughter of John T. Horan, Sr. and Sarah Anne O’Connor Horan, both of Heckscherville, Cass Township. She was a 1987 graduate of Minersville High School and also studied cosmetology at the South Campus of Schuylkill Technology Center. She worked in sales at the former ALCOA/Cressona Aluminum; and later was employed as the Community Development Manager for Age In Place Home Care, Pottsville.
She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, Carol is survived by her husband, Shawn M. Conville, Sr.; two sons, Luke Blankenhorn and Shawn M. Conville, Jr., both of Palo Alto; two siblings, Margaret “Peggy” Bernetskie (spouse, Andrew), Norwegian Township, and John T. Horan, Jr. (spouse, Holly), Jonestown, Cass Township; nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her parents-in-law, James and Janet Conville, Port Carbon, two brothers-in-law, James Conville (spouse, Lisa), Port Carbon, and Daniel Conville (spouse, Barbara), Pottsville; her loving canine fur babies, Chewy and Heela.
The family will accept visitors in the chapel of St. Patrick Church, 401 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Mass will be celebrated in the church at 11:00 A.M. Mary Elizabeth Sorlete (nee Sciarrone), of Tower City, passed away December 31st at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown. She was born May 4th, 1926, in Pottsville to the late Rocco and Guiseppina Sciarrone. She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters: The Most Reverend Rosario F. Sciarrone, Domenica Guth, Anna Barbetti, Joseph Sciarrone, and Helen Sciarrone. Surviving is her most beloved sister, J. Louise Sciarrone, Drexel Hill.
Mary was a 1944 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School. She then attended Women's Homeopathic Hospital's nursing program in Philadelphia and was a member of the US Cadet Nurse Corps, serving through WWII until her graduation from nursing school in 1948. Mary worked as an Operating Room Specialist at St. Agnes Hospital in Philadelphia following her service in the Corps.
She then married, moved to New York and had four children. In 1989, Mary retired from nursing from Flushing Hospital, Queens, and returned to Pennsylvania.
Mary is also survived by her four children: Maria Keith, Philadelphia; Rafael Lopez (Tawny), Maryland; Robert Sciarrone, Mount Pocono; and Josephine Roma (Samuel), Tower City, who also cared for her at home, and the three family dogs, Jake, Charlie (her particular favorite), and Molly, who provided many hours of love, comfort, and entertainment during Mary's final year. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was deeply loved by all and will be missed by all who knew her...even briefly.

Barbara J Kissinger, age 82, of Valley View, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Saturday, February 20, 1937, in Valley View, a daughter of the late Ivan Koppenhaver and the late Thelma Morgan Koppenhaver.
Barbara was a 1955 graduate of the former Hubley Township High School.
She worked at the Tri-Valley High School Cafeteria and last worked at Bixler's Country Meats, Valley View.
She was a member of Pine Creek United Methodist Church, Spring Glen; where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She also sang with the Pine Creek Circuit Riders.
Her husband, Donald H Kissinger, passed away in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by a grandson, Joel R Kissinger, and a step grandson, Jeremy Michener.
She is survived by two sons, Rick D Kissinger and his wife Dawn of Hegins and Craig A Kissinger and his companion Nancy Carpenter of Mt Carmel; a daughter, Lori J Blyler and her husband Joe of Valley View; three grandsons, Joe D Blyler and his wife Allison of Elysburg, Andrew J Blyler and his wife Kelsey of Hegins, and Drew A Kissinger of Klingerstown; two step grandsons, Dennis Wolfe of Hegins and Steven Michener of Seattle, WA; a step granddaughter, Shelby Wolfe of Mt Carmel; three great granddaughters, Adalyn Blyler, Juliette Blyler, and Cora Blyler; and a brother, Lenwood I Koppenhaver and his wife Linda of Pottstown.
Funeral services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at 11:00 am, with Rev. John Wallace officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be made in St. Mark's Cemetery, Spring Glen.
Memorial contributions can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Thomas P. Coyne, 69, of Frackville, PA passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at St. Luke's University Hospital, Bethlehem, PA after a short hospitalization during which he was surrounded by his siblings.
Born in Ashland, August 9, 1950, he was a son of the late James W. and Mary Rita (Colahan) Coyne.
He graduated from Immaculate Heart High School and Mount St. Mary's College. He had been employed by Schuylkill Transportation System and Jetson's Direct Mail.
He is survived by his children: Maureen Mieczkowski, Greenville, SC; Megan Uram, Norristown, PA; and Michael Coyne, Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister: James W. and his wife Kathleen, Fairfax, VA; Nora Coyne Cordero, Ashland, PA; William J. and his wife Paula, Schuylkill Haven RD; and Michael A. and his wife Janie of Selinsgrove, PA. His surviving neices and nephews are: Carla and Brett Neuberger and children Owen and Amy; Christopher and Heather Coyne and children: Caitlyn, Eamonn and Reilly; Michelle Coyne; Ryan Coyne; Sean and Janell Coyne and son Patrick; Clair Coyne Weise; James Coyne; and Anne Coyne.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2020 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland with Rev. Brian Miller officiating. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ft. Springs. Visitation 9:30-11:00 AM Saturday, January 11 at the church.
