Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital has received accreditation by The Joint Commission. To achieve this important accreditation, the hospital underwent a thorough evaluation by The Joint Commission that determined that it meets the commission’s rigorous performance standards in delivering quality, safe care.
“Accreditation by The Joint Commission is considered the gold standard in healthcare,” explains Gabe Kamarousky, President of Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital, which is located at 100 Paramount Boulevard in Orwigsburg, PA.
“This accreditation means that our staff has made an extra effort to review the key areas that can affect the quality and safety of your care.”
The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 22,000 healthcare programs worldwide and focuses on continually improving healthcare by setting the highest standards for healthcare quality throughout the world.
“We’ve taken the time to recruit and build a well-educated and high-quality team to offer services here in Schuylkill County,” Kamarousky says.
“Being an accredited facility means that we’ve been evaluated by our peers and validated that we are working under established industry standards. It is our goal to offer access to high-quality, cost-effective care to our friends and neighbors. I’m proud to say we are well on our way to doing so.”
Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital is the first joint venture hospital project in the state in which two different organizations co-own the facility. Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital is a fully licensed, 80-bed hospital that includes an emergency department and a full range of specialties and services.
“We’ve been able to maximize our resources in order to create this entity, staff it with highly trained providers, and bring cutting-edge technology and expertise to our region,” Kamarousky notes.
