James Allan McClure, 59, of Tamaqua, PA died February 24, 2020 at home. He was the husband of Jennifer (nee Johnson) McClure.
Born in Philipsburg, Centre County, PA, James was a son of the late Doris “Wink” McClure who died in 2018 and Allan McClure of the The Villages, Florida. A 1978 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School, he attended Penn State University. Most recently James worked for Boyer’s Market, Tamaqua, the Beacon Diner, Hometown, and the Sidetrack Tap Room, Tamaqua. An avid reader, he also enjoyed music and was a guitar player. James was adventurous; he sought his spirituality and saw the world differently than those around him. He enjoyed a glass of wine or a cold beer, a good laugh, and conversations with friends and family for whom he had a deep love.
In addition to his father Allan and stepmother, Jackie, he is survived by daughters Lindsey McClure of Oil City, PA and Bryar-Leigh McClure of Pittsburgh, PA; son, Joshua McClure of Sciota, PA; brothers, Chris McClure and his wife Jackie of Mechanicsburg, PA and Allan McClure and his wife Hilliary of Atlanta, GA; and nieces and nephews.
James was also predeceased by a sister, Jeannie McClure who died in 2006.
Services will be held at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, March 3 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Calling hours 6-8:30 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Thomas F. Butler, 70, of Altamont Boulevard, Frackville, died Friday Feb. 21, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.
Born Aug. 15, 1949, in Hazle Township, he was a son of the late Stephen and Clara (Kripp) Butler.
He was a truck driver before retiring working for Venezia Trucking, Limerick; Tbt Trucking and All Steel both of Hazleton.
Tom was a volunteer firefighter at several area fire companies and served as fire chief in Blackcreek and Brandonville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Butler.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Lois (Knipe) Butler; two sons, Timothy L. Butler and his wife, Sarah, of Weatherly, and Robert A. Butler and his wife, Erica, of Frackville; brother, Anthony Bien, of Linglestown; grandchildren, Kasie, Kandy, Tray, Seth and Demetri.

Arlene F. Mione, 67, of Hamburg, formerly of Tower City, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 26th at her home.
Born on January 15, 1953 in Williamstown, a daughter of the late James and Mildred Shutt Kennedy.
She was of the Catholic Faith.
She was a graduate of Williams Valley High School. Following graduation she entered the Adorers of the Blood of Christ Convent, Columbia, PA., where she was a nun for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Kennedy; three sisters, Mary LaMonte, Mildred "Doll" Klinger and Joan Knapp.
She is survived by her companion, Earl Bailey with whom she resided; three children, Julia M. Harris and her husband Wesley, Trevorton; Paul A. Mione, Danville and Nicholas A. Mione, Mt. Carmel; one brother, Vincent Kennedy, Gettysburg; four grandchildren, Brittney, Bianca, Devon and Dylan; 3 step grandchildren, Taylor, Wesley Jr. and Carla. Nieces and nephews.

Leaffie L. Knadler, 86, of West Penn Township, died Thursday, February 27, 2020, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Coaldale. She was the wife of the late George R. Knadler for 60 years before his passing on August 12, 2012.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at Atlas Powder Co., Reynolds. She previously was employed at a garment factory and as a waitress. Born in Walker Township, she was the daughter of the late David and Mabel (Breiner) Lorah. Leaffie was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed taking care of her home, gardening and helping at craft shows with her granddaughter Ann and her family business AJ Fogel Farm.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Herman, Carl, Walter “Pit”, David “Jim”, William “Billy” and Allen, and five sisters, Margareth Lorah, Messida Hamm, Minerva Zellner, Evelyn Urban and Violet “Tootie” Snyder. Surviving are a son, Richard and his wife, Nancy, of Tamaqua; a brother, Harrison, of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Marsha, wife of Tony Thomas and Ann, wife of Jeff Fogel, Lehighton; six grandchildren, Andy and Jesse Fogel and Alex, Olivia, Lorah and Kailee Thomas, two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Lorah, of Tamaqua, and Irene Koch, of New Ringgold; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, March 2, 2020, at the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, with the Rev. Cindy White officiating. Call 6-8pm Sunday, March 1, and 9:30-10:30 Monday, March 2, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Joan Irene Fidler, 81, of Lengel Lane, Pine Grove, went home to Heaven on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. She was surrounded by her family at her home.
Born on September 27, 1938 in Tower City, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Erma Snyder Bressler.
She was a 1956 graduate of Tower City High School, where she enjoyed playing basketball.
Joan was a Switchboard Operator at Agway and a Bookkeeper at Werner's Lumber. She was also a loving Daycare provider.

She was very involved with Jacob's Lutheran Church in Pine Grove, where she especially enjoyed singing in the choir. She enjoyed reading, travel and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Dale Fidler; three daughters, Jane Fidler-Turner and husband John of Schwenksville, Jennifer Lampart and husband Karl of Lenhartsville, Darlene Toscano and husband Alex of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Karl J. Lampart, and Cameron, Tyler, and Olivia Toscano; and a brother, Clair Bressler and wife Joy of Lakeland, FL.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date at Jacob's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove with interment in Jacob's Lutheran Cemetery.

Rachel S. Salen, 89, of Beuchler Lane, Pine Grove, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Providence Place, Pine Grove.
Born on October 2, 1930 in Pine Grove Twp., she was a daughter of the late George W. and Jennie Mease Lehman.
She was a 1948 graduate of Pine Grove High School and was a member of Jacob's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.
Rachel had worked at Summit Station Mfg. in Pine Grove. After retiring, she worked at Arby's in Pine Grove.
She loved playing pinochle and going on trips with her husband.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Irene Thomas and Marie Wolfe; a brother Harold Lehman.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Charles "Sam" Salen; two sons, Craig and wife Susan Lehman of Pine Grove, Dwight and wife Patricia Miller of Tremont; five grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Faith, Joel and Cody; ten great grandchildren; a sister Arletta Brown of Pine Grove; many nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Church. Interment will follow in Jacob's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.
